Imagine 2 years ago if someone told you the Knights would be a real chance of missing the 8 in Bennetts first two years even though they had a bunch of big name signings added to a 2011 top 8 team. Would have been a ludicrous thought at the time.

A lot of Knights fans would have predicted just that. He's a coach, not a miracle worker. The miss he inherited is mostly gone, but few of the saner members of the Knights' supporter base expected anything before year #3 or year #4.

Given his recruitment for next year, I'm leaning more towards the latter - if at all.

What are the knights doing?
I would adore seeing the Broncos go on and winning this (inspite of it costing me $30 on a roosters/knights/geelong multi), but i cant see it. Only 6 down, if the knights wake up, they should reel this in pretty easily

Hunt carving up. This kid can play. Abou time the Broncos found a decent half.

If the Knights lose this they'll be 9th (Warriors should beat the Sharks). They'll be in real danger of missing the 8.

Imagine 2 years ago if some dick wad told you that Bennett would be coaching the Rabbitohs because they had spoken to his brother. Would have been a ludicrous thought at the time.

OHHHH Ben Hunt. What a freakshow! Someone tattoo the number 7 on his back ffs.

When it gets to the stage that Hodgeo needs to float around the field to receive the ball to make up for the teams weaknesses, you know you've got a problem.

Proud of the boys, keep it up. This is real football.

i said when i signed he wouldnt win a comp with the knights, and ive seen nothing to suggest that prediction is in trouble. As good as they can look at times, they are still miles off being a genuine threat (to be fair to the knights, all 12 teams outside of the top 4 are in that same boat)

The frustrating thing is that there is a fair amount of talent in that team. Mullen, McManus, Uate, Leilua, and a few in the pack are genuinely great footballers. Hell, even Gower and Boyd have their moments.

The same attitude problem that has been there since Joey hung up the boots is still an issue.

Your forward is old and tired. Even accounting for the fact Mason and Snowden are out tonight, Bennett has recruited (IMO) pretty poorly in the forwards. Smith and Scott are perfect examples, good players years ago when he won a comp, but over the hill and over paid. They lack genuine strike in the back row, they need someone like a Cordner (who just scored) or Papalii to give them another dimension. Rocow has potential but i dont think he'll ever be on those guys level

Need to find a real halfback too.
Their backline is fairly impressive, Gagai, McManus and Uate are quality. Joey is just ok, could easily upgrade there. Princess Darius needs to be moved on, simply doesnt put in enough at club level. And Mullen can be a good piece.

But it all comes back to the forwards, not enough talent in there

I rate Leilua higher than Gagai on form. Gagai has potentially, but he doesn't show it.

I agree our pack is weak. Snowden and Mason are our only real muscle, and with them out we're left relying on nuffies like Houston and Costigan.

I still think we lack a genuine half to partner Mullen. Roberts has his moments, but he's not going to win a premiership. Shane Perry and Sean Rudder won them with better men than Mullen at their side.
