I had a view of the game last night but it's always hard to tell when your at the ground. I just watched the replay on fox and the referring bordered on farcical.

Souths were never in that game and they back into it, not by good play, not by the tigers falling apart, but through an 8-2 penalty count of all 'interpriatational' penalties. Some of the penalties were justified, however both referees put their whistles in the pockets when souths were defending. All the penalties were deep in souths half and marched them downfield. They didn't have to try and play catch up football at any stage cause they were brought back into it by the men in the middle.

A full strength souths sydney were probably always going to win against a team coming 14th missing 6 of their normal 17, but the refs took the result completely away from the tigers. This has happened time and time again this year for souths. In no way do I think the referees are cheats, however there is no doubt they go out with an idea of who they think will win the game and sub consciously this effects the way they see the game.

As gronk said a team gets these decisions every year, parra in 09, saints in 10, hell I'm even big enough to admit the tigers have been on the end of them before. Souths better hope they go all the way this year cause I doubt they'll get this incredible run again next year.

sure have. Tigers vs Warriors in 2011 is arguably the most suspicious refereeing performance in the games history and it was lucky the warriors ended up winning cause their should have been an investigation into that fix up.

Souths did it easy in the end last night. Tigers were falling off tackles everywhere.

Tell me more about the GF please.

You won one about 10 years ago, and it will always have a * next to it.

So in these last 30 years which you love to bring up, you guys have won a single premiership, and you know deep down you weren't the best side that year.

Loosen up that tin foil hat and f**k off with the whinging. Your side gets to play in one of the biggest non finals games in recent history and all you can do is obsess over the Rabbitohs.

Are you serious? Or just a moron. The roosters have been with manly the most successful Sydney team in the last 15 years. From 1996-2004, played finals footy every year. Have played in 5 grand finals etc
What have your garbage team done in the last 42 years, apart from
1- Win numerous wooden spoons
2- not play in ONE grand final
3- for 19 years btw 1989-2006 not play any finals, that's a world record
4- get thrown out. That was so funny.

Had enough ? You really shouldn't a war, with a water pistol you fool.

One decent year , and you get soooo excited . You're a joke and so is the loser team you support

One of your best Vic.

32 points to blot after giving you an 18 points start, and it is because of the refs.

Tigers played great for that 10 minutes.
Souths came back and won convincingly.
Souths fans will be happy about that.

Go back to Monday night.
Sharks got out to a 26-0 lead and held on to beat the Roosters.
Instead of saying the Sharks played well and deserved the win the majority of Roosters fans cried, whinged and bitched about penalties, video ref decisions and head slams.

And you've got the hide to abuse a souths fan happy to get a win

This comment just about sums it up for me...it is spot on. The refs make the marginal calls go Souths way every single occasion and this has been happening ALL year. There appears to be an agenda from the NRL, but we the public are not supposed to pick up on it? Please...mercy the refs make it so obvious that Anderson must be tired of making up excuses! In all seriousness, did everyone miss the 2 metre look away forward pass from Luke that led to the 18all scoreline? I think Warren shouted out about it on the commentary that it was miles forward. How did the 4 refs miss that?

I have said it to my mates all year long - Sths 2013 remind me of Saints in 2010, with the refs riding them all the way via lop sided penalty counts and dodgy calls. I will laugh long and hard when Sths end up as the Saints of 2009 instead!

Lol, love geniuss like Vic still trying to claim the 2010 saints got a leg-up from the refs that year.
Three years later, the tears and delusion are still flowing freely and it warms the cockles of my heart.

Oh, and 32 consecutive points...that sure is a big leg-up!

Totally agree, souths supporters dismiss this as 32 unanswered points, what they don't or can't see is their team getting away with stuff the other team gets pinged for, happens nearly every week.
And that pass by Luke leading up to the try to level the points was a disgrace, how could 4 officials all miss a blatant forward pass, thats right it was souths playing.
Souths are a good team, but their position is helped by officials on way to many occassions for me to cop,I am glad a lot of other people are seeing this now,I have been telling my friends this for months.

No-one cares about how good you are when you end up watching the opposition celebrate on the big day. You've won one* more comp than Souths since the game turned pro.

You aren't Manly or Melbourne. They make GF's and win them, not make them and call stitch up when you get pumped.

No tears here, as I said the tigers have been the golden team before too.

If you want tears/whinging about refs i suggest you go and read your posts from the tigers/dragons game thread last week, some real quality dummy spits there champ

Wow, the wave has become a tsunami.

Heeeeellllo.

Fans are now seeing it.......Souths have had a leg up all season long. The only supporters who are blinded by it, are their poor suffering fans, who believe in the tooth fairy. The NRL have had a disasterous season, and they need a feel good story....that story are the perennial losers ...South Sydney.

I don't entirely blame their supporters. They have been through so much. Their grandchildren haven't witnessed a premiership. The majority of the crowd that witnessed their last success, are in the seventies now, some are 80.

Part of me , wants the elderly to witness a Souths premiership. I feel sorry for them.
I just want Souths to win on their own merits, not because officials want to gift it to them.

Souths have been unquestionably the worst performed side in almost 50 years, some of the rubbish football, they have tortured their fans with, has been gut wrenching.

They deserved to be thrown out in 2000, they were utter garbage, an embarrassment to the fabric of australian sport. The laughing stock of this country. A putrid football team.

I was stunned they were reinstated in 2002, and I was proved correct. Wooden spoon after wooden spoon, really shitty teams.

Finally after 42 years of garbage, they have a competitive side, albeit a side getting a leg up by officials.

What else can you say I suppose.

If it makes you sleep better at night, they go for it. The problem is, when you wake up, you will realise what a pea brain comment you just made.

What part of no premierships since 1971, one semi final win in 25 years, multiple spoons.....don't you understand ?

Are you that stupid ?

I am loving how all non Souths fans have noticed the blatant and disgraceful bias being shown to the Bunnies all year long. The Nrl NEED, sorry in fact, they MUST have a feel good story in 2013 - its sooooo obvious its nauseating. Think about it rationally...we cant talk about the ASADA findings, the rampant drug use in the NRL or Cronulla's potential demise now can we? The ASADA horrors can only be subdued by a Souths premiership, and as such, the media will saturate their coverage with 42 years of pain, torture, horror and dogshit FINALLY over for Souths fans! Yippee all of a sudden ASADA does'nt exist!!!

My only concern? Which team will be sacrificed by the NRL to ensure Souths win the comp via a 18 to 2 penalty count in the g/f? Me thinks Manly or the Roosters...everyone in Sydney hates them both right? So who would care if they copped it...serves em right eh?:sarcasm:

good lord, roosters fans (or fan) already coming up with excuses for if they don't win the grand final. This forum is going to go crazy when souths win next week.

I like the bit where we don't even have to beat the Roosters anymore for the Roosters fans to get all butthurt. They really are frightened of us. They know we're the only team who's pumped them this year and they know we're capable of doing it again.

The Tigers fans complaining about the refs should actually be thanking them. They wouldn't have scored 3 tries had Sam Burgess not been sent off.. Ok maybe not, but can you see how ridiculous it sounds when you try to attribute tries to the ref rather than the team? We arent talking about a close game here we're talking about 32 unanswered points. The NRL is a professional game. We aren't in India or Italy. This game is not fixed. The whinging is all coming out because a lot of you don't like Souths and don't like seeing them do well. It's quite childish. Souths have been poor for years, we finally have something to cheer about and the knives come out in full force.
The Tigers looked good early on but they got tired and started holding down in the tackle to reset their line, that's when the penalties started. Next year with Luke Brooks they'll be a top 8 team if they can play the full 80 like they played the first 20 last night.

If the roosters, manly or Melbourne get an even penalty count, and split the 50/50 calls against Souths, then all 3 teams have Souths covered.

The south Sydney rugby league club are the epitome of losing. Can you imagine if you were born in 1972, you could be a father of 3-4 children. Your entire family have never seen a successful Souths team. You would have to rely on historical books, or your grandparents to tell you of their once glory days.

The 1970's, after 72, was a dreadful decade.
The 1980's, another inept 10 years, 2-3 finals appearance
The 1990's, without doubt the worst australian sporting team of the decade. Absolute rubbish
The 2000's, refer to the 1990's
