We know we played Shiite.

It is Round 3, we have won 3 out of 3, and have a a lot of work to do.

We all know your team is the one to beat, but last I looked the finals are a long way away.

Also, BM doesn't talk for Souths supporters, never has and never will.

I honestly don't see my team as the team to beat, i see them as one of about 4 possibly 5 teams to beat which includes yours. Like you said the finals are a long way away and anything can happen. All i did was make an observation about a deficiency in an opposition team early in the season that IMO needs a lot of work.

Just like i think that while my own team has shown glimpses of their best the first few rounds i still think there's a few areas that they can improve upon.

Ever occur to you that the high score may have had something to do with the 35 degree heat, f**kwit?

lol@cheats... barely scraping in at their home ground against a severely depleted dogs side.

Can't wait for round 6 (at ANZ for a change) to watch the cheats pants turn brown, before we flog them and hose them all back down the Hume Hwy to their Melbourne sewer pit.

LOL Nemewinks and Bunniesman. AKA Tweedle Dee and Tweedle Dum

Your guys are the ones to beat, the rest of us are all chasing you.

Sure, some are more likely as challengers, but all of those supporters know that they will have to somehow beat you to take it out.

Nothing wrong with that, that is the reality, and as noted it is a long season.

Just got home from the game. Just watching the replay on TV, It was hot, damn hot. I think that played a part in the score line. The 2nd half from the Panthers was gutsy as hell. No 2 points but considering most have us penciled in for the spoon & Souffs as top 4 I am pretty happy tbh. Souffs seem to be the golden ones as far as the officials go, some of the calls were a bit baffling but you get that.

Easts and Sharks are a combined 4-2. Most people would have both finishing in the 8.

Yes of course we didn't defend well today but we have played good teams and we kept them out.

We need 8 teams to round out the finals but as we all know most of them are making up the numbers and have very little chance of making the finals. While i do believe that both teams are well on the right track to rebuilding their rosters to be a force in the coming years i don't think either are genuine contenders this year. That's just my opinion though and i could be totally wrong, only time will tell.

If all this ASADA stuff didn't happen and the way they've recruited in the off season i'd have said that the Sharks would trouble a few teams at the business end of the season but unfortunately i think in the end it will rip the guts out of their season. I honestly hope it doesn't but i just think it might.

Souths kept their composure although the panthers were coming home with a wet sail.

It's a game like this,so early in the season, that will do them well in the later rounds.

Most other teams would have more than panicked and given up shop, but not Souths.

They showed their professionalism by closing the game when cool heads were needed.

I thought Teo was the most undeserved Origin selection since Jamie Buhrer and T-Rex combined, but gee he looks like he could be a really good find for Souffs this year.

Penrith looked good. You can see where Cleary is taking this team. Strong forwards, quick outside backs and Segeyaro will probably be the most astute buy of the season

Smokeys this ya, could be genuine top 8 by next year

Not a bad effort by Penrith considering how badly we were dominated in the ruck. Seriously we need to sack our wrestling coach, because they aren't worth whatever we're giving them.

9/10 times Penrith attackers were getting rolled onto their backs by 2-3 Souths defenders. Yet in defence we were getting 4 players to make the tackle, and still letting them go down on hands and knees. Made a massive difference in the speed of the ruck in the first half, and was the decisive factor IMO. Adam Docker and Nigel Plum were probably the only Panthers doing their jobs in this regard, however they physically couldn't make any more tackles than they did.

Tom Humble looked sharp, Adam Docker tried very hard. Josh Mansour needs to stop trying to offload within his own half, and Dean Whare needs to get involved more. Despite some poor defensive reads, I was also glad to have Tighe back, and it was nice to see him get some early ball.

Not all doom and gloom despite the loss. Could be much worse for us.

Some predictable anti-souths posts here from the usual suspects. It was 35 degrees out there today, everyone was buggered. It's easy to bag them out while sitting on your fat ass in your air conditioned loungeroom
Well played Penrith, said it before you'll go well this year. Write them off at your own peril.

Despite some rubbish defence there were some enjoyable moments in the game. Much more entertaining than your average Panthers game.
Considering this is almost a new team they'll get better as the season goes on ajd they're competing well already.

Letting in soft tries & errors is stopping us from being a good team. The efforts on Sutton, Inglis & Goodwin were disgrace ful as was the basic errors.

We get it to 12 all. A basic error we let them in. We were fortunate not too be put away in the 2nd half but kept giving the ball back.

F**k me it was hot in the stands the players would of felt it more.

I love reading match threads. Shows how many people here have never played league. Thousand degrees out at Penrith today, it was always going to be a game of touch.
