I don't know how Boyd became an automatic selection. He isn't exactly a great player yet every year he gets listed.

I suppose he and GI share a strong combination and didn't muck up his chance like Hayne did in 2009.

Id say this goes a fair way as to why he keeps being picked. That and the fact that he is an incumbent who has done nothing to deserve losing his spot. I cannot remember Darius putting a foot wrong at rep level.

As for Gidley, well, at the very least it is amusing to see the usual meltdowns at his selection in any rep team
