Tonga is what happens when you get together a bunch of talented, hard-running, offloading athletes with no discipline, direction or coaching. No amount of Moi Moi runs, Tupou leaps or Manu offloads is going to get you anywhere if you don't have any direction.

Couple of dumb moments from the Cooks really cost them - Rapana's idiotic try attempt and the reverse play the ball just before a try. Tonga are really going to have to come up with a game plan if they want a chance against Italy though.

Some great moments in that match. I loved the commentator claiming that Fisiiahi's ankle was broken and 'looked horrible' when he just had cramp

But it did look horrible. I was convinced he'd done it, even before the commentators spoke.

His feet point in an odd direction if that's what they normally look like, let's put it that way :sarcasm:

It's great that the competition has had so many close games and upsets, but I really can't get over how awful Tonga are. They should be ashamed. Should've won both games so far by 60.

But they have pride, bro.

No need play well, as long you have pride, & a Twitter account.

If Scotland win and Italy lose, they will qualify no matter what. If Italy beat Tonga and Scotland lose, Italy qualify. If Tonga beat Italy and US beat Scotland, Tonga qualify. If Italy beat Tonga and Scotland beat the USA, Scotland have to win by a margin of at least 15 more than Italy's margin. For example, if Italy win 24-16, Scotland must beat USA by at least 23 points.

I think I've got it right, correct me if I'm wrong.

ok what are the mathematicals for this Pool, who needs to beat who and by how much?
Group C?

Italy go through if they beat or draw with Tonga and Scotland fail to beat USA.
Tonga go through if they beat Italy and Scotland fail to beat USA.
Scotland go through if they beat USA and Italy fail to beat Tonga.

If both Scotland and Italy win, Italy have +14 points difference so Scotland would need to better Italy's winning margin by 15 or more points to qualify.

Basically if Scotland beat USA on Thursday (Friday morning in Aus) then Tonga are eliminated and Italy must win their final game to qualify, possibly by a certain margin depending on whether or not Scotland beat USA by 15 or more points.

By 60? come one man dont have a laugh. Everyone just overrated this Tongan team cause of their victory over a weak as Samoan team earlier in the year. There was no way that team could repeat That performance with that style of game. They only play one style and thats crash and bash its how Tongans always play they lack any kind of guidance around the field.
