Yep because Manu Vatuvei gets stopped one on one 3m out with a full head of steam 9 times out of 10, seriously maybe if it was an average winger you'd expect them to be stopped 60% of the time but not a bloke who's 115kg

The only reason he made contact 3m out was because he and Walker were backtracking at a rate of knots like a couple gumbies. If he'd held a stronger line he could have hit him with a bit of strength instead of essentially falling back over the line

I'd still blame it more on walker though. Wingers are supposed to follow their centres, so when Walker threw it in reverse it no doubt influenced Sione to do the same

Lets be honest lesbians

Put the Morris twins, JT, Gal and Scott in that team and we fist NZ

Enjoy the Bradbury win kiwis

Lets be honest. THe Kangaroo's got dominated and resorted to grubby bully tactics.

Junior Kiwis won.
Kiwi Fearns won.
Kiwis won TWICE.

Have a ponder on that.

That's it, that's enough. No lifting of the trophy, Sheens and NSW a embarrassment .
Hardly any representitives on stage.
No wonder the code gets treated like a second class sport.

Johnson owned Inglis, and Evans and Cronk, yet we get treated to second class origin rugby where Gallen is more interested in boxing, Hayne goes to NFL and video refs rule on a try to Thaiday so they can allow a NSW win.

Asada put paid to that, and crowds are voting with their feet.
The codee is lame, and i would not be surprised if johnson joins Hayne in French rugby.

Anyways congrats to New Zealand. By far the best team all series. Such a shame Samoa didnt get a win though, I think they were third best just behind Australia. England were average with a lucky win over Samoa.

I believe I can identify the problems.

First, not enough halfbacks. There were up to four more slots that could have been filled with halfbacks.

Secondly, too many prop-forwards. We needed more back-rowers.

Finally, Ben Hunt was given far too much game time. Farrah should have been playing instead.

Or, better yet, we could have had another back-rower.

Yeah conceding two stoppable tries is far less humiliating then dropping a bomb.

The guy who was ran over twice to score against in a one try loss certainly was the LEAST of our worries.

Deadset. He had a couple of shocking tackles and you can't point out he was picked prematurely without the defence force acting as though its not possible to do better. FFS. He had a poor game, he will learn from it. He is still a kid with only 7 games of NRL behind him. He now has 3 games of international footy aswell, basically a third of his toplevel games are international footy.

He will definitely be a better player then Mansour. No one is suggesting otherwise. But he isn't there yet, and having a kid tonighy backfired massively.

Im happy to point out when myteams winger f**ks up. i know he has shocking handling at times. But in his four games for Australia he was only exposed under bombs he once, and managed to recover and not concede a try. He has room to improve too. But he is still only a rookie himself.

He would have scored the possible winning try if Walker had have got the pass right and had a hand in another. There is no guarantee Mansour would have made those tackles either.

If you think Mansour did any better than Sione then I think you are biased.

The problem lies in the go forward. Taupau, Bromwich and Taumololo were just too much. Klemmer and Woods tried but they needed another big frame or two.

Put Matthew Scott and maybe a firing Andrew Fifita in that side and we have a shot. I think the backline is ok, we were dominated but every time we were down their end we looked like scoring.

This is what we needed for international rugby league.

This is probably pretty close to Tim's actual thought process.

Not sure if it's been said as I can not be f**ked to read the thread but why was Hunt not bought on around the 60th minute or so when they game was not entirely out of reach. Cooper and Dce were offering nothing. Sheens is an absolute f**king potato

Till the ball was passed to Walker, he looked out of his depth all series.

You just said it yourself: He got ran over the top of. You can argue whatever way you want what he should have done to stop those tries but at the end of the day the one thing he really needed most to stop Manu was size and strength which he didn't have enough of on a guy that size. Sure that probably highlights one major reason why 18-year-olds shouldn't get picked...they still have growing to do however when you look at the circumstances the kid pretty much did the best he could. Even if he had have gotten to Manu faster for the first try I say Manu would have been too strong for him anyway.

For the record I had serious doubts and question marks over his selection to begin with. However I find the still constant death-riding of him by certain posters ridiculous when he's not only exceeded expectations of how everyone thought he would go, but he actually performed better than some of the more experienced players in the tournament. Not bad for a kid that's had most league supporters death-riding him, played 4 games at wing in his entire career and had to play all series next to the biggest spaz that's ever pulled on an Australian jumper. People also seem to forget that Australia wouldn't have even been in the final if it wasn't for his great take in the final minutes of the game against England to stop them scoring.

Don't get me wrong, his selection came much faster than it should have...but at some stage I think people need to acknowledge that he wasn't the giant f**k up everyone was expecting/hoping he would. Was he exceptional? No...nobody is saying that. But really, who was exceptional for Australia this series?
