Did England get a 7 tackle set toward the end?

I thought the same thing. I was watching at the pub with the sound down and was sure it was a 7th tackle. No mention of it on Twitter...

They made more line breaks than both NZ and Australia in their games against them. Just lack that last little bit of polish to turn those chances into points.

The fear now is that Australia V NZ is the final, Australia win and the doomsayers get to dismiss what's been a brilliant series of games by trotting out the old "even missing so many players, Australia win, international league is waste of time, blah blah".

The game really is it's own worst enemy at times. IIRC the All Blacks have a better winning percentage then the Roos yet you would never hear any yawnion fans calling for and end to the world cup.

But they're losing the battle IMO, the international game has rebuilt hugely in the last 10 years. If we keep getting games like that it will be impossible to ignore and the mob that think suburb v suburb and state v state is the pinnacle will just become a vocal minority.

Tell you what though, away from the banter, the last two Kiwi/Englsnd games have been as good as any origin in recent years. International league is alive.

I loved that it was on GEM. Finally get to watch a Channel 9 game in HD.

The coverage was awesome and we had Andrew Voss back!
Who was Actually filming it though, as I noticed a few superimposed NFL style lines and tackle numbers.. Only taken 15 years to catch up... But I bet we won't see it on 9 for a few more

Yeah, miles ahead. Stop being an Origin mark, it's really not that great, it peaked around 2004 and has been mostly average to poor since then in comparison to international footy.

I'm no Mark, just a realist. Today and the Semi were better than the last 3 or 4 years at least though. If we do go out, I can't wait until the series between us next year now.

And it's also taken Ch9 until now to realise it makes much more sense simply broadcasting the Sky coverage with Vossy's commentary rather than send nuffies like Tim Gilbert over across the ditch to cover matches in NZ. Seriously, why can't they do the same for Warriors home games when Ch9 covers them?

Why can't they swallow their pride and bring him back, he has surpassed Rabs imo. I reckon Hadley has cost them ratings the last couple of years, especially for Broncos games.

Whilst I 100% agree with everything you said, Vossy will NEVER be back at Ch9 whilst Gyngell is head of the network.
