Fensom averages 7.8m per HU.
Rochow (shit form) 8.9
Finucane 9.6
Docker 9.2 (picked looking towards the future IMO)
Frizzell 8.4

Docker has the start, the others are all better impacts off the bench.

Fensom off the bench is a spot wasted.

Fensom is pretty good in DreamTeam, but I don't think the rep selectors use that criteria.

The thing is, the back row for NSW is top shelf.

Bird, Gallen, Lewis, Watmong, Merrin, Cordner, Stewart... Hard to break into that group, plus who I might have forgotten at this ungodly hour. Its no joke. Wade Graham is a hell of a player and he can't break in. Fensom isn't as good as those guys. So I'm not saying he should be playing Origin footy. Someone like Adam Docker at least have big potential and might one day be as good or better than Fensom. So I probably shouldn't put him in that group. But Dale friggin Finucane? Robbie Rochow? Josh Jackson? Tyson Frizell? These guys will never be SOO footballers. I'll say that now and be very confident of being right. Yet in the selectors eyes they are ahead of Fensom in the pecking order.

Basically if Gallen is injured, the only NSW forward capable of even sniffing his work rate is Fensom and heccan't even make a 17 man country squad after 4-5 players have pulled out.

As said, these selectors have lost 8 in a row. Almost no chance they avoid 10 in a row. Yet they continue to pick the same style of side, with the same philosophy and wonder why the result is the same each year.

Perhaps it's time NSW started looking at players like Fensom in this "origin trial" game and considering if they can help end this streak. There is a saying about doing the same thing every time and expecting different results.

I probably would have picked him too but this is a huge overreaction. Every year in every rep team there's always blokes that don't get selected despite a lot of people thinking they should. If he never plays SOO he never players SOO. I'm sure there's been a lot of players better than Fensom that have played their whole careers without ever getting a blue jersey.

Im definitely no doggies fan but how did Darren Britt not get a go.

Comparing Fensom to some of the players picked before him is ridiculous when you take into account that they all have very different skill sets and strengths.

Robbie Rochow?

I'm going to be bias here, but lets face it right now so are you, but his form last year was class. Of course, clutching to last year isn't right however, it suggests that if (or in my eyes when) he finds consistency in his game, then he'll be a bench player in the next few years.

You're really, really mad about this aren't you? Yeah, it's wrong Fensom wasn't picked right away but you're way, way off the mark when it comes to criticizing player's potential to play higher levels of representative football and need stop thinking that Fensom is so far a head of so many because the reality is, he isn't.

His form last year was good... saying it was class is a stretch. He's going to be a good first grader for us in the future and I can imagine him being at the club a long time... why is there a sub-section of our supporters group that thinks this guy is a superstar?

CvC is about right for Rochow - I feel it will probably be where he peaks. You could see him maybe getting an origin jersey somewhere down the track if there are a lot of injury concerns... hell, Alan Tongue, Nathan Merritt, Steve Turner et al all played origin too... but to say he's a class player is a bit misleading... or you have much lower standards for that term than I do.

Perverse, pretty sure Tongue never played SOO footy

I'm not remotely mad about it, other than a good game of footy and hoping none of the raiders boys get hurt, I couldnt care less about these rep games. I'm more angry at Croker being left out for Jack Wighton who has hasn't even been playing centre and which ever joker is pick Josh McCrone than I am Fensom. It just genuinely baffles me how he's rated so low by selectors .

Josh McCrone shouldn't be in FG, let alone playing rep football. Just an astounding decision. Worst part is I just know if your mate Gidley, who is laughable assured a place in NSW's team, gets hurt, I'm pretty sure McCrone is going to get some consideration as his replacement

As for Rochow, he isnt a SOO footballer. It's that simple. He is an ok club player, he will have a long FG career but he isn't skillful enough to be a player at the next level and his work rate is poor so he's not compensated there. I really dont care how biased you think it sounds, but Fensom is a much better player than Rochow. Wayne Bennett would make that trade every day of week if available to him.

He didn't? I swear I have memories of articles with him in a blue jersey. Was he even 18th man?

I could be tripping balls, either way it doesn't erode my point, was just a name that came to mind. Can probably rattle off a bunch of other examples of sub-rep quality players getting a rep game or 2. Mark Hughes springs to mind... although to be fair to the bloke, he copped his hiding in that series with dignity and poise.

He might have been 18th once or twice. But as you said, that's neither here nor there, the point made is a fair one. I guess Rochow could be a guy like that but with the 2nd row depth, I just don't see it myself.
