Don't rate Hodkinson, I honestly believe he was only picked because he partners Reynolds (who was the obvious choice) and he can kick goals.
Tupou is good in the air, but doesn't offer much else.

Hoffman and Scott - do I seriously need to explain?
Obviously Bird, Fifita will change that for game 2.

A Reynolds has been absolute garbage and carrying a dodgy knee. Why would you pick him?

I think they totally had a stroke of luck with choosing Hodkinson because I think you're right when you say they just chose him because Reynolds chose himself.

Hodkinson has carried the Bulldogs spine from what I've seen. Perrett and Ennis do jack and Reynolds is a nice foil for Hodkinson but he's actually been REALLY good. It's not too long ago that he absolutely carved up for the Sea Eagles and it's only injury that's kept him down until now. I think he's the best halfback in NSW right now and it's a dead set miracle he got selected.

Blues team isn't great IMO but am I the only one who thinks QLD genuinely lack a big man or even 2 with Thaiday out replaced by Guerra ? Their bench is thin as hell I reckon and better hope Parker has a monster game.

I also think this club combinations stuff is an absolute joke. The halves in club football barely ever even pass to each other these days and how likely is it for one club to have the best two halves in NSW in their team?

6. Mullen
7. Hodkinson

Would be the best halves pairing they could have fielded. Would have got a damn lot out of their backline with Mullen's running and short kicking game and Hodkinson's passing and long kicks. f**king selectors.

Lol @ Hoffman and Williams. Also Hodkinson, wtf? In what way is he a better player than Jarrod Mullen?

Hodkinson's selection is well deserved. It's Reynolds' selection which isn't and he would be nothing without the foundation Hodkinson lays. Deserves more credit for the position that the Bulldogs are in. Only reason why Reynolds got selected was because of the hype driven by the media creating this illusion that he deserves selection.

Unfortunately Dave, Mullen will never play Origin again and he shouldn't even try to push for it. When you're NSW's finest and most skillful 5/8 and get overlooked for a bloke who's only quality is his grub, then your chances of getting another chance are slim to none.

Yeah fair enough..........It's just frustrating that once again NSW's best half wont be out there.

Tupou offers much more then just fantastic aerial ability. He's fast, a good finisher and is a very strong runner. He's very good at taking hit ups to give the forward's a breather, usually makes 8-10m on the run and an extra 5 or so in the tackle. I hope he plays well, but not to well, can't have him destroying us.

QLD by 10.

Hoppate is NSW most skilled winger / centre, he had to be in the team; Tupou is just a modest winger, will go no better the Merritt.

Happy with the selection other then the question marks on Beau Scott and Ryan Hoffman personally I would've started Watmough and put Tariq Sims in and I would've added John Sutton to the bench can play second row and can add to the already good skeleton that is Hayne, Reynolds, Hogdinkson or however the hell you spell his name and Farah.

Queenslanders watch out starting next week NSW begins will reclaim their domincance and crush you like the toads you are.
