Do you think both sides will make any changes for game 2? I'm thinking Bird in for T-Plod for NSW and Third Man will probably come in for some grub for qlderp.

There are numerous injury concerns. I think many decisions they make will be based on who is and isn't fit.

Don't know what you were watching. He was great in attack, his role wasn't to take on the line every single time but to organise the attack and make every pass hit the mark (which QLD couldn't do). Hayne kicked towards the end because he has a freakishly long boot. No one can kick a ball as far as he can

Really? I know you're a dogs fan but let's not go overboard, the tries NSW scored were all Hayne, he wasn't put into a gap or anything he did it himself, I liked Reynolds' involvement but I thought Hodkinson was solid at best, didn't generate anything in attack, kicking game was average and missed a fair easy conversion. In any case Hodkinson was playing mostly on the left hand side which was impotent for NSW

Btw someone needs to tell Tony Williams that he's banned from passing the ball, bloke is 120kg and has Thurston in front of him, just run hard mate, sick of seeing him shuffle 2-3m forward then give it off to someone else to take the hit up like he's the halfback or something

Woods played a lot better than his debut games but dead set i want to see him take on the QLD pack like he did v Souths and Manly! Still think he was a bit overwhelmed by the game tonight but did alright

Will Hopoate may get a run if either Josh or Brett Morris are out

Injury wise Watmough is effectively gorn, possibly the season. Same with Cronk.

Brett Morris definitely out this weekend, Josh Morris injured too. Both having scans tomorrow. Hodkinson nose injury is minor and will be ok for next week's game.

Cam Smith and DCE look doubtful for this weekend too. DCE possibly longer.

Josh Reynolds charged Grade 2 Dangerous Throw - two week suspension with an early plea. That's R13 and Game 2 (same round as R14, same concept as Bird so can't play). He'll need a downgrade or not guilty verdict to play Game 2.

Reynolds tackle was worse then the one that broke the Knights players neck, if I remember correctly the young Storm player got 8 weeks but wait on there was no injury so he'll get a week, absolute joke of a system.

Reynolds tackle was bad, but watch the replay - it was Beau Scott's contribution that made Tate flip.
I think Reynolds defense team will use that and he'll get the downgrade.

Tony Williams is useless...he reminds me of a tree - the only thing their good for is standing their and looking big! I think NSW should bring in a player who can make a bit more of an impact in attack! Call me crazy but I would have loved to have had someone like Nathan Peats/Kurt Gidley come off the bench to add something a bit different in attack especially when Queensland started to gain momentum in the second half.

Williams will go for Fifita most likely for game 2 anyway. Williams is more effective on the left than right don't think NSW used him well.

I wonder what Laurie Daley does if Josh Reynolds is suspended. Given that hes very stubborn in his ways, he could use it as an opportunity to drop Hodkinson and recall Pearce and Maloney (god forbid), or will he break his mantra and just bring in another five-eight, such as Sutton or Mullen or will he bring both Sutton and Adam Reynolds. It will be very interesting!

I think it could be Hoffman to the bench, Williams dropped and Greg Bird into the team. Fifita might come in for Tamou

If watmongs out, Tamou will probably stay. Either way, barring any more injuries I think we'll actually have a stronger side for game 2.

Sutton and Mullen sound nice to me

Next dirty "tactic" to be scrutinized and outlawed - Using the forearm or elbow to strike or apply pressure to the neck / head of a tackled player on the ground". Thank you Cam Smith and others. Hopefully before someone gets a serious injury.

The Tate tackle looks bad but it was 90% momentum, should be able to get a downgrade.

The refs need to explain some of their decisions, especially those made in the last 5 minutes.

Putting aside all the gloating, whinging, deifying and blaming that will happen in the next few weeks, I just have to step back and marvel at Rugby League and State of Origin.

It never fails to impress, my side lost last night, and I cannot with any fibre of my being say that the game wasn't anything but spectacular.

I went to pub in Melbourne, which was full by the way, with my wife (A Victorian), my mate (A victorian) and his girlfriend (a Saffa) and they were blown away by the spectacle and the game.

I just amazed how this game, and this event, continues to get better and better.

Too right. There's always whingers saying that Origin is dead as a concept, or that no one cares because Qld have won too often, yet games like last night constantly prove them wrong.

Tate is a whinger...saying that he thought he was going to be like McKinnon was a bit dramatic IMO.

My two cents from last night...Qld looked predictable the whole game running at the NSW centres on the last tackle and they held strong. I think the whole big 3 aging discussion point is true..Smith looked flat and never really dominated the ruck like he has in club games this year.

As for Thurston..he is a big game player but did not really threaten last night and his kicking game was average.

Hodkinson had his critics and his tactical kicking was average but he also looked composed and did not panic and this is a big aspect in Origin.

T Rex just needs to run hard and straight..more effective than looking for offloads etc.
