How are the knights am ageing squad? This is such a common misconception.

They look at the few stars that are older (i.e Mason, Scott, Smith and Gidley) and ignore the rest of the squad who are all in their early to mid twenties e.g Boyd, Uate, Mullen, Rochow, Roberts , Leilua , Mcmanus, Gagai etc etc.

Oh and Knights by 6

Based on trial form the Knights would have the be feeling good about this game. Panthers haven't looked that good yet. But with so many new players its probably going to take a few rounds for players to click with each other.

Expecting it to be rather scrappy, but I think we'll manage to pull through. We've got the pack and the backs, should be enough to handle whatever Penrith throw at us.

Id take our fowards over yours but your backs should have us covered. Who knows about the halves? Seg could be the difference here.

I haven't bought into the panthers hype. Yes I think they're a good team and a strong chance at the 8, however IMO they're 1/6/7 are a massive worry. The rest of the squad looks great but these are integral positions.

If Mullen was fit I'd be picking Newcastle with a lot of confidence, even without him I still think the knights might get it.

With the amount of injuries the Panthers had last year, & still went ok & with the improvements in their squad, I reckon they are top 8 certainties.

Will be up for this game - should win.

The Panthers excite me this season. They are the team I think will be coming a long way this year.

The Knights are old and tired and have no Mullen.

Is this the same old and tired team that was one game from GF only five months ago?

Please. They got there by default. They'll come 7th/8th and be one and done in the finals this year.

Lol. Can we have the default 26 round comp again in 2014 please? The one that gifts teams like Newy a clear passage to a preliminary final.

You a bit sour union is stealing Sammy BM?

Agreed about the fact we should be top 8 certainties. Not so sure about us being able to win this game. So many new players in the team and our spine hasn't even played a trial together yet. Could take a while for Soward and Wallace to click, and for the likes of Idris, Taylor, Peachey and Naiqama to look comfortable with guys they have never played a game with.

I think Panthers fans expecting us to start the season off on fire could be left disappointed. We have a strong roster, but it will take time for them to play their best footy.

If we got there by default last year, then I'm more than happy to get there by default for a second year. Wouldn't mind seeing the great South Sydney choke for the third year straight.

Hey, imagine if we get to the Prelims again by default and face Souths? Boy oh boy, the Defaulters vs Chokers.
