Knights made 13 errors in that half, about 65% of the game played in their half and go into the break ahead by 2... Gidley probably trying to milk another penalty and cost himself 15 minutes there

Pretty shit start to the season but our defence has been pretty solid, that's something I'm quite happy with. A bit confident we can go on to win it from here, they're struggling in our 20 and we simply haven't had many opportunities down theirs. Make them count, leave with the points.

What a boring game

Why is it the Rabbitohs have seemed to play the mot adventurous style of footy so far? I thought Broncos and Panthers would be showing some exciting hot potato footy

Panthers never seem to perform against Knights, although this is a new team of course and I don't expect their best form early in the season but results are still important. Soward and Wallace combination may not last long if the 1st half is any indication.

Two letters GI.

As for the Broncos playing hot potato footy, not sure where you got that impression from?

Griff seems to be a bit more "traditional" than run and gun.

When were the Rabbits adventurous? They were powerful and aggressive, but most of their plays were very basic.

Panthers look like a team without much time together and the Knights look like a team missing half their spine....imagine that.

Penrith were always going to play this way though. Conservative Cleary likes this style if grinding play regardless of whether or not the opposition is there for the taking.

Hate to make excuses but heat=fatigue.

I'm pretty confident the game would be much better at another time slot.

Man how good was Gidley's theatrics to get that Panther's try denied. Best thing he's done all game. Maybe the only thing he's done all game. I mean he was clearly denied a fair opportunity but he went the extra mile for the team.

I'm okay with teething issues at this point.

I'm worried about the desperate hospital passes at this point - and the similar signs of frustration. After being denied so often, a Penrith side of old would crumble. I'm hoping that we can be disciplined enough to remain competitive from behind. I think that those attitude elements are the kind of things that need to be apparent from the jump.

If we keep this under wraps, we'll find confidence and form.

After watching this I think those that advocate for less trials can safely shut the f**k up.

Yep. You can survive a lack of attacking spark in the halves if you have a coach with good tactics in attack, and you can survive a coach with little attacking nous if you have two halves with some spontaneity and skill in attack. But....put the two together.......

Maybe it's cause I'm not used to seeing them in the Rabbitohs, but it felt like we had more offloads in that game than I saw all of last year. I'm used to us being the boring clinical team to watch
