There isn't a game goes by when it's not "the refs".

It's a pretty ridiculous excuse.

we were f**king disgusting. Melbourne and slater especially were clinical. albeit whenever slater got the ball our outside defenders shat themselves. Bounce of the ball went Melbourne's way all match but thats what happens when you have more energy and direction.

But the reffing was f**king diabolical as per. These merkins in pink are continuously being influenced by divers and squirmers in the ruck.

why was Gowers so called 'crusher' tackle put on report but Roberts deadset cannonball wasnt? Because Roberts didnt injury anyone and Norrie clutched at his head over what was really nothing more than an accidental neck teak. Id be bitterly disappointed if Gower misses out on any game time for that.

That had zero impact "in-game".

Yeah the crusher penalties given in recent times have been ridiculous when most of the time they're accidental. We lost Paul Vaughan this week for a similar incident.

The crackdown was fine when certain teams had been systematically applying the tactics. But that was a long time ago and you don't see anyone do it intentionally anymore.

I mean how often do you see a grapple tackle penalised these days? and they are much more common.

gower won`t miss any time for that tackle, glad Norrie wasn`t hurt in that accidental tackle.
The players and fans should expect a higher quality refeering system but this season there has been some shocking displays.

Norrie was at fault more than Gower He tucked his head under when the tackle was being made. He then layed down taking a bloody dive...

Gower shouldn't be suspended. What about the "knock on" by Waqa when replays showed it clearly hit his head.

Norrie didn`t dive and the tackle was made fairly and squarely.norrie was told to stay down by the trainer so he could make sure he was ok. I hope gower won`t be suspended as there was no malice in that tackle.

That's essentially the point. Again, we weren't good enough to win. But I don't believe we deserved to concede almost 50. F/A is going to be crucial this season, and refereeing decisions certainly cost us points in that regard. That's why I hope Arthur blows up. Partly because coaches and players need to start pressuring the NRL to hold poor referees to account. The NRL punishes players who make mistakes. An accidental high tackle or a poorly executed legs tackle that goes over the horizontal gets you time on the sidelines, why should refs be exempt? It's not exactly the same situation, granted, but the refs need to be held to account as the players are IMO. And ultimately I guess I'm being selfish; it seems that if you blow up at the refs, they try to appease you in the future.

Ref influence being over-exaggerated but that "crusher" tackle penalty was the worst penalty of all time. Of all time.

Its not over exaggerated.. The Eels players let the poor ref calls get to them, they need to learn to block that out and continue playing football..

It all started with Hayne blowing up then the rest of his players followed his lead..

Leave it to us fans to whinge about the refs ( and Toovey).
