I dont mean to bring more sense to this thread, but the Raiders have won more premierships, less spoons and have a better over all Win % than the Knights.

lol I stopped reading here.

I could be wrong but I could have sworn that I read that the Raiders "won" the spoon in 1982.

So no, sorry, if that's the case you're not bringing sense to the thread. Rather the opposite. Both teams have "won" the spoon once.

Considering we were all but mandated to fill that 82 team with a bunch of locals who were no where near FG standard (because sydney clubs were terrified of us poaching all their talent, can you imagine that? A Raiders team stealing sydney talent, oh sweet irony haha), i put that "wooden spoon" in the same category that i put your 1997 Premiership

And that is to say it's in category that no one should really consider legitimate. Given the circumstances. They are really only achievements in name only, not in merit.

Well, Gidley has been named at FB, but with Minto and Mamo on the extended bench I think it's highly likely one of those two will be named at fullback, with Gidley moving to 9 and Waddell to the bench at the expense of probably fa'alogo

We haven't won a spoon "this century"

I can't remember our spoon.

You can remember yours :)

Yeah :(

Still though, point stands.

And you guys think we're grasping at straws ;-)

Pretty much every team in the comp could come up with a range of excuses for the spoons they've gotten. The "bunch of locals that were no where near FG standard" apply to the year the Knights got theirs too.

Yeah absolutely. Especially considering no other hooking options have been named on the bench.

Bennett always initially names young blokes about to debut on the bench.

Also it's been 13 years since the Knights last premiership, which in reality is no real great difference than 20, it's not as if you're a side on the cusp of another premiership, you basically miss the 8 every other year like we do, and havent been a genuine contender for years and years.
There's no difference between 13 years and 20 years?

Would that be your defence in court, too? "Come on, your honour... in reality there's no great difference between 13 and 20..."

There are people in the full time workforce that weren't even born when you last lifted a trophy ffs. Mobile phones weren't a thing when you last lifted a trophy unless you wanted to carry a brick larger than Campos bald head around. The internet barely existed outside of universities when you last lifted a trophy. Judging by your username, you didn't know what masturbation was when you last lifted a trophy. 13 and 20 may as well be completely different epochs.

Dat lime green logic.

Knight's fan logic: 1 Premiership 13 years ago is better than 3 premirerships 20 years ago.

FFS The Warriors have had more Grand Final appearances than you lot.

If a premiership 13 f**king years ago brings you anymore joy today than a premiership 20 years ago for me then you need to look no further than your own fan base as to why your club is irrelevant

Living in the past, living on past glories and not demanding more from your club. You are the NRL's salary cap wet dream. You are parity. Happy to have been good at one time, dipping between top 8 and bottom 8. Maybe one day the stars align and you'll add a 2nd legitimate trophy to your cabinet, but if not, never mind, you make the 8 every other year, even more rarely you beat one of the big clubs in a finals game!
You'll always have 2001, wont you?

Goodness, i actually feel sorry for you.

We have 2 premierships Canberra fans. The fact you pissed off to another comp to play silly buggers for a year doesn't detract from that. We won the official sanctioned ARL Grand Final and that's all we could have done. You can paint it any way you like, it's there in the official record books whether you like it or not, just like the opposite is there in black and white for 2007 and 2009 no matter what certain players might tell themselves and what justification you can dream up.

You can say 1 or 1.5 till the day you die.

As I said, it has no bearing on the truth or what the record books say.
