There is a time and a place for that discussion and it's not there. The player was lifted so it's a penalty so what can he really gain by debating it?

There was one on Hamtpon by Scott about 10 minutes earlier and thankfully Hampton didn't duck his head, Smith's point/goal was to highlight that the ref's have been inconsistent on the tackle thus far.

The tacklers DID do plenty wrong ffs. Just coz Mckinnon made it worse for himself does not mean the Storm players did nothing wrong. You can't lift the legs above the body for a very good reason, you lose control and shit like this happens.

maybe he wast rying to do an inglis

The Storm players broke the rules and their rule breaking contributed to a potentially serious injury. Multiple week suspension.

Both were penalised. When a player gets injured like that it's hard to argue against being put on report. If smith is right then they can make that case at the judiciary.

No way was he put in dangerous position. If he didn`t tuck his head in he would`ve been ok

He WAS put in a dangerous position. He made it worse for himself trying to milk it and get the definite penalty. But the Storm player lifting put him at a bad abgle which deserved to be penalised.

Knights did the same tackle a few times to Storm, and that was Smiths argument. Although he shouldnt need to bend his neck and get in a bad position to get the penalty. But unfortunately refs are hesitant to blow penalties when players dont milk it and make the illegal plays hard to ignore.

I don't buy into that intentionally putting your head into the ground.

What exactly do you expect him to go? Should they do planks at training, in case their lower body is being held up in the air, & they can keep their upper body horizontal?

People really think he would try milk a penalty by driving his head into the ground neck first...
Not possible he was trying to roll over thinking he was being flipped around or got disorientated? No, clearly tring to break his own neck, penalty to Melbourne, some genius views in here

Triple m have reported he is moving his arms and legs fine now

Hopefully evrything else is ok

Thank God.

Btw on the head duck - I don't think he was playing for a penalty either. If he hadn't had ducked his head he was going neck first into the ground and probably would have hyperextended it badly anyway.
