I'm not sure if it was this year's or last year's, but all I know is that the game last year had a very low penalty count.

:lol:You're not serious, right? That was typical Matai at what he does best (or worst, whichever way you look at it). Committing thuggish acts on the field doesn't make you a tough player.

And on the topic of referees, Silverwood and Ganson (I think that's the name of the other renowned pommy referee) would give a lot of referees in the NRL a run for their money. On their own (since SL only uses one ref), they'd definitely do miles better than the two who officiated this year's NRL Grand Final.

Personally i think the refs in the ESL are far better than their NRL counterparts.
But Silverwood got that 07 Wellington test badely wrong. He should have penalised it and put it on report. The game wouldn't have blown out to a farse that way.

I would hate to be playing in a game that you are the referee!! The act was clearly intentional and high. Not sure of the suspension that was handed down but it most likely reflected the pretty gutless act. :?

Yes who could forget that test when Richard 'the tosser' Silverwood sent off Matai that should have recieved no more than a warning.

You blame the referee for Matai being an absolute thug? If that wasn't a red card then sending offs should be abolished in rugby league. Matai is just a thug; in my mind those who defend thugs aren't any better.

Were you picked on at school or something? Harden up. Put Matai on report and penalise him. Game on.

We lost a centre out of the game too. That score line was coming no matter what. Your coach was the reason you couldn't compete as was evident by the Kiwi performance against Great Britain later.

so does anyone have an updated ticketcount/rough indication of how many have been sold? I think at least 40k as the final result would be good

Been a fair few posters spotted at tube stations around London recently. Sounds obvious but the RFL never advertise the Challenge Cup final at Wembley, and did zero marketing for the last GB game held down here in Londinium.

That is why, regarding Aus/NZ test matches, I'd much rather see the return of the mid year 3-test match series (which hasn't occured since 1995) played after Origin, rather than playing a one-off test in May, and then waiting more than 5 months for another one-off test after the NRL Season.

Whilst the timing of the matches could be argued, I totally agree that one of matches against the Kiwis are not any good. They seem to build as tournaments progress and annoyingly for me peak at the finals!

We should give them more opportunities to play a series.

How we fit this in is a challenge.

the walk up might be a lot bigger given the tube & tv adverts

if we've sold 33k tickets i reckon we might just hit 50k
