Souffs fans must be asking where the hell those after burners have been when GI has been playing for them.

Not going to hear anything about the game over the next few days thanks to the f**kwits that yelled out during the minute silence...

If anything they were robber of a 14 point spanking. Inglis was 5 meteres infront when he picked up that ball and that was not a forward pass for the disallowed Pearce try.

As a proud QLDer, it pains me to say this, but well done NSW.

For me, the two big turning points for us were:

1. Taking the 2 points instead of taking the tap in the 2nd half. Easy to say this with hindsight.

2. Chambers fumbling the ball over the sideline. Huge momentum swing. He didn't have a great night, but he was solid in game 1.

Can't wait for the decider. Wish it was next week.

I'm a neutral but I generally felt Queensland were robbed tonight. I thought based on previous decisions that we have seen this season, Josh Morris' effort should have been ruled a 'no try'. However, the biggest turning point for me was the Greg Inglis decision. I thought it should have been ruled a knock on against Pearce as it was a loose carry; Morgan was just going in to make a tackle and made no attempt to rake at the ball. The fact that Phil Gould - the most biased Blue supporter and commentator on the planet admits this speaks volumes of how bad a decision it was. Also, in the following set, I felt the knock on ruled against Michael Morgan was actually knocked back. Subsequently, NSW score from the following set. Finally, what about the late hit on Thurston? James Graham must be absolutely filthy after he got penalised for an incident which was not too dissimilar to the tackle on Thurston; the only difference was that Reynolds went down injured. In saying that, the hit on Hoffman was also missed so that evenings things out in that regard.

I thought the only reason why this game was good was because of the closeness of the game. Although it has become much a cliche, I thought the referees completely ruined the affair with their constant interventions. I've never seen so many 10m penalties awarded in one game in my life! I thought the referees were exceedingly harsh on NSW in this area! Overall it was great game but I hope we have 2 different refs for game 3!

Graham was penalised for taking out the legs of Reynolds. Thurston hits were fine, they were hard no doubt but they weren't late, high or taking out the legs imo.

Swings and roundabouts. Blues could have had a try to Pearce and King Wally said Morris scored that try.

i) Morris' effort was a try to me. Had downward pressure and enough control on it IMO. We have all seen way worse given
ii) It looked to me like Morgan was more than just going for the tackle. He played at the ball and managed to knock it out. I'm all for more emphasis being on the carrier of the ball to have more control over it, so I don't agree with the interpretation. However, the precedent has been set. Given previous situations, that was always a strip. As well, as others have noted, the ball came out and hit a maroon's players boot. Inglis was in front in an offside position. There were several things there to call a No Try on
iii) Phil Gould is how he is. There have been a plethora of times where he has had NFI whatsoever about the rules. Him blowing up about that try represents his agenda against the interpretation of strips and his larger agenda against those in charge. He is a disgrace to the game and how viewers perceive it
iii) What late hit on Thurston? The hit by Cordner was brutal but it was fair game. It was simultaneous/slightly slightly late but he was never going to pull out of it on time

So as a blues fan I didn't know what was more annoying.

Phil Gould doing his early crow impersonation again saying QLD don't look like scoring right before Gillett scores or after running back to pick up the ball Pearce spent his time waving his arm instead of trying to play on and putting in a woeful kick.

Feels a little better winning though.

We played well. When it looked like Queensland were going to do exactly the same to us as they did in the first game, we stood up and wrenched back the momentum. Our halves were actually not too bad. Jennings was unbelievably good. I'm sure Roosters fans must be asking questions about where that form has been. The only two players who I'd single out for a kicking are Gallen and Dugan. Gallen played like a bloke coming off a 2 month layoff, much like he did against the Roosters. Dugan was far too casual. Was there when it mattered though. And you could tell that Gallen's presence lifted the rest of the team. At this point, he's probably the ideal candidate for the Gidley-Creagh captain from the bench role.
