I'm a neutral but I generally felt Queensland were robbed tonight. I thought based on previous decisions that we have seen this season, Josh Morris' effort should have been ruled a 'no try'. However, the biggest turning point for me was the Greg Inglis decision. I thought it should have been ruled a knock on against Pearce as it was a loose carry; Morgan was just going in to make a tackle and made no attempt to rake at the ball. The fact that Phil Gould - the most biased Blue supporter and commentator on the planet admits this speaks volumes of how bad a decision it was. Also, in the following set, I felt the knock on ruled against Michael Morgan was actually knocked back. Subsequently, NSW score from the following set. Finally, what about the late hit on Thurston? James Graham must be absolutely filthy after he got penalised for an incident which was not too dissimilar to the tackle on Thurston; the only difference was that Reynolds went down injured. In saying that, the hit on Hoffman was also missed so that evenings things out in that regard.
I thought the only reason why this game was good was because of the closeness of the game. Although it has become much a cliche, I thought the referees completely ruined the affair with their constant interventions. I've never seen so many 10m penalties awarded in one game in my life! I thought the referees were exceedingly harsh on NSW in this area! Overall it was great game but I hope we have 2 different refs for game 3!
