It's been the rule for several seasons now that if a player hits/touches the ball in the process of making a tackle and it is forced out/or touched out of his hands it is deemed as being played at. Eg, player is in the process of passing, player comes in and starts to make a tackle, touches the ball, 6 again.

Is your memory that selective ?

Yes and its been consistently ruled that way since, hasn't it.

FYI, Im not saying it was a bad call or even wrong. You've read far too much into what I typed.

Its a f**king dumb rule but its the rule. I seem to recall something similar in game one going against Queensland too ?

Bileduct melt down. was it a try or not.
it was not.
Pretty sure I said it was no try a page or two back, mate.

The debate was whether or not Inglis was onside.

The below images show conclusively that he was. Mystery solved.

Those pics show nuthin

The dude was offside

While on the subject I wouldn't mind having a look at where Thurston was in relation to smith
when he kicked it on the 3rd tackle to pin nsw in goal.

He was offside, but as you can see from the second image he had gotten behind the point where the ball bad been touched last by his own team member, which puts him onside.

It's pretty clear cut.

So in Game 2 last year Hayne slapped the ball out of Thaiday's arms when making a tackle as Thaiday was diving over the line. Thaiday fell on the ball and grounded it, but it was deemed a knock on - did you deem it played at then?

Or did you agree with the rest of NSW fans in that it was a "loose carry" and a knock on?

Actually, your first pic shows where the ball is AFTER Myles has touched it. It was actually touched further back than that still frame shows.

And based on that, Inglis' two feet were not behind that point (the way I see the angle anyway).

Moot point anyway, Myles knocked on after Pearce (if you consider his a loose carry) so it was no try any which way its looked at.

you must judge each decision on its own merit. every circumstance is slightly different. you shouldn't hold grudges.

I can tell you I went through that frame by frame with VideoRedo and paused it at the exact moment Myle's hand lost contact with the ball.

Well I respectfully disagree. I think the close up shot show's Pearce's right foot about a foot inside the 10m line and Inglis' front foot is about two feet inside the 10m line. I ran a black line across the screen on the wider angle shots at the moment Myles touches the ball and the furthest Inglis' get back and you could tell he was onside by where the line intersected the 10m marker.

Yeah I already said that. Morgan strips the ball, Myles knocks on.
