Are you suggesting that you have the better team?
At full strength. Without doubt.

Even missing half a dozen players they were better than Roosters in an epic finals match last year. Ultimately ruining the 'dream grand final' by forcing you to play Souths a week earlier.

Pearce especially needs to bounce back.

The Panthers brains trust cannot help but to have noticed what happened every time Queensland ran their big boofheads at Pearce last night. Kept the scoreboard attendant busy thats for sure.

Sir Waqa Blake to turn it on & have Tommy in awe. Watene Zelezniac to show Tuavasa Sheck that the more letters in your long difficult surname translates to better on field performances. RCG to own JWH, Soward & or Wallace to show Pearce what should be required from a rep standard half, and Cartwright to make the world think Sonny Bill who?

Panthers by 2.

Roosters have hardly been that impressive. I'll go the Roosters by 6 but I am FAR from confident.

Cleary rates the Roosters as the best roster in the NRL. There's an article about them on NRL.com and the most depressing part is the stats:

STATS THAT MATTER

- The Roosters have held the upper hand in this match in recent seasons, winning five of eight since 2011, and four of five since 2013. Penrith have failed to score 20 points in each of those five most recent matches, with the Roosters scoring 142 points to 55.

- The Panthers and Roosters are ranked first and third in offloads this season. Since Round 9, both teams have averaged more than 13 offloads, the most in the league.

- The Roosters have a great record under Robinson following a week off, winning eight of nine games and running up significant scores in the majority of those matches. All up, they have averaged 32 points to 11 in matches after a week off.

No wonder Panthers are $2.90 outsiders. Although we did win in the biggest game we have played against them.

They had the best team on paper last year too. It was a better side on paper than the current one (SBW + Mini > Ferguson). Yet not only didn't they win the comp, they failed to reach the Grand Final after being minor premiers, being twice defeated in the finals, one of them by this week's opponent.

You see, having a great team on paper does not guarantee success. The star studded Roosters have a tendency to loaf at times, and you'd think "the best roster in the NRL" wouldn't need to resort to conceding penalties repeatedly in order to set their defence.

Cleary probably believes what he says, but the timing of it shows that he is merely trying to motivate his team for a crucial match against a very strong opponent.

After all that, Panthers only by 2?

'Best team doesn't win comp'? That must be like, the only year that's ever happened!

C'mon Riff, keep that buffer from the top two down!

You'll be doing the Broncos and Cowboys a big favour.

Geeze, I hadn't considered the above. Trouble is, people are already at the Pepper Stadium watching the Panthers Under 20's post a score Michael Clarke would be happy with, and others are getting ready to go to the game or already on their way. Otherwise we could just call it off and save the embarrassment of losing to such an unbeatable side (who have only lost 6 games so far this season).

So we are all going to just have to turn up and play the game, even though its apparently a mismatch all over the park. Just like the 2003 GF and the 1v4 semi last year both were.

Ahh Tommy, you make me laugh. Pearce isnt fit to utter the name Soward. The rest of your team are plodders.
