Considering we get our arses handed to us more often than not up there, I'm not even going to complain how f**king arsey it was and how next week vs Titans will be a worse game of the year contender.

Points last week and this will help us come the end of the season.

Old man supports Cowboys so it's always hard to be that happy about a win over them especially under these circumstances.

It doesn't even feel like a win to me. I seriously feel like we lost, and I hope the players feel the same way. Stone better flog them at training this week.

We were extremely stupid and ill-diciplined. But they also showed a lot of guts and the goal line defence was excellent. We would have lost that by 50 last year.

Small improvements and all that.

We need to sort our bench out. The Houston/Fa'alogo show has to end immediately.

If Vaivai was strong again in Cup then surely he won't be left out? Titans aren't exactly a tough side so it would be an excellent opportunity to blood him. I'd even bring Yates up as it seems he did alright despite the loss.

Is Robert Lui the worst half in modern football history?

The guy has nothing to offer bar domestic violence.

Had to head out just after O'neil was taken off. Did they mention his condition? Didn't look good

True about our goal-line defence... but why are people saying we would have lost by more last year? Absolute bollocks! Unless you're counting the period after McKinnons injury, anyway. Before McKinnons injury and in the second half of the year we were mile and miles ahead of the football dished up tonight. Lightyears, even.

Because last year if things kept going against them or they kept f**king up the heads went down and they let the opposition have their way with them. We kept shooting ourselves in the foot tonight and gave away a heap of quality position but they kept turning up and defending their line set after set and it eventually won them the game.

Two gutsy wins to start the year (one in a place we always get towelled up) isn't bad for a side that's trying to rebuild. The execution will get better. They just need to hold the ball.

Ok, I guess I just don't really agree and think when our heads were screwed on right in 2013 and 2014 we played better football than we have in the past 10+ years. People seem to forget all the good football we did play when things were good because of stupid grudges. With McKinnon's injury put behind them, we won like 8 of our last 11 matches last year? Against some of the best teams in the comp, no less. But you claim we're better off playing this kind of football?

If we keep playing like we did tonight this year, we finish 12th at most. What went on tonight won't fly against most other teams, the Cowboys were just fortunately as tragic as we were.

I don't buy the rebuilding line, either. It's not like Bennett gutted our team when he left, and he left us in a much stronger position than he found us - even if he does take Gagai back.

You can't be serious about us playing better football in 2014?????

Yes we played some great footy at the backend of the year but it took us a looooooooooong time to get there. We were terrible this time last year, even before McKinnon's injury. Round 2 last year we got beaten by the Raiders. At home. We got beaten by the Raiders at home. Granted we didn't have Mullen but that was still inexcusable. He was quite tonight anyway and we still got the job done.

Our execution always hits its straps at the back-end of the year. Difference is this year by getting a few arsey wins at the start of the season we might not already be mathematically out of the finals race by the time we really hit our straps like we were last year.

Mullen was quiet? We don't win tonight without Mullos kick for Aku. We don't win without Mullos defense in the line, either. Even when he is playing shit, he is invaluable to us. To make light of that from last year is crazy talk.

I can certainly agree with you that these are valuable wins, because our run home this year is pretty much all away games. We won't be having the strong run home that we've had the past 2 seasons.

Mullo was very quite by his standards.

You're right about the away games at the end of the year but that also puts our run at the end of last year into perspective doesn't it? During our run of great form at the end of last year we played two away games and got absolutely annihilated in both of them.

Whether we make the finals I don't know but considering it usually takes us a long time to find our rhythm every year I'm happy to start off 2-0.

I'm definitely happy to start of 2-0, I just feel like we have no hope whatsoever of any impact on the competition if we can't improve 10-fold on that. I don't know where the discipline is going to come from with a captain that couldn't keep a cool head if he was dumped naked on a glacier.

I really don't think we can move forward as a team with Gidley at captain, or possibly even on the field at all. I feel like a good captain can calm his team, Gidley does the polar opposite. A good captain makes a big play when it's appropriate in a match... even if Gidley could execute a big play, which he can't, he'd almost certainly choose the wrong time to try it.

If anyone deserved a punch in the head it was Houston and Scott last night.

That is the major failing of the one punch rule, in that fake tough guys can thug away with any fear of repercussion
