At the end of the day both sides have a lot to work on. Cowboys will come good but they need some toughness in the forwards to go with their size and Knights need some brains and discipline (although I was very pleased with the effort and defence).

I actually think you guys have a very decent, if underrated side to work with there. But even better a team of effort players.

I think the Cowboys have none of that and poor talent in key positions (hooker and 5/8th)

I expect a inconsistent season of underachieving (so the normal)

Have Morgan or Coote ever played in the halves? You wouldn't need anyone brilliant there with Thurston, just a decent runner. Lui seems to hold you back a lot - the Cowboys version of Kurt Gidley from what I've seen. Saying that though they're usually slow starters so the problem there might just improve as the season progresses.

Good thing for the Cowboys is that if they can get the spine sorted they certainly have enough size and talent in the forwards to get the job done on anyone if they put some more effort in. You can't coach size and power.

The Knights will keep on trying but I'm under no illusions about how our pack will go against the likes of Souths or the Roosters. Just hoping idiots like Houston are gone before we play them to lessen the inadequacies there.

No surprise to see the dirty Knights are all the talk after their disgraceful, thuggish cheap shots. When even someone as completely biased as Andrew Johns calls them unacceptable cheap shots, you know it was bad.

Beau Scott should be rubbed out for at least 12 weeks. Rick Stone should be sanctioned too, sending out your players with an edict to hit the opposite playmaker late and cheaply - essentially telling them to break the rules and break them often - is unacceptable. Morgan is a halfback, he never played fullback before last season.

He was very good in the number 7 against the Dragons last year.

I hope Lui is dropped, he is a liability in attack and defense.

We need Cam King to stay fit and come in to provide some direction and aggression too.
