Unless we get Mansour or DWZ back we will be missing our entire backline aswell as our halfback. 6 of our 7 players injured.

We might aswell forfeit the remainder of the season and stop depleting our NSW Cup and U20s sides.

That's a great point actually I don't think our nsw cup team will end up winning but we can't be selfish and screw our NYC team

I believe that Mansour and Simmons are coming back in.

I assume Api will play halfback????

These games aren't always that straight forward.

Penrith can throw the ball about as they have nothing to lose.

I don't think it will be a flogging, Penrith will go ok despite their injuries.

Souths by about 14.

Souths will win 50+ if the Panthers have a reserve grade backline. Any decent half will spot gaps galore and have a field day with try and linebreak assists on most sets.

As bad as it sounds, I have zero confidence we'll even be able to compete in this game

Bunnies by 20 as a minimum

Didn't these two teams literally play each other like less than 4 weeks ago? doesn't make sense

Souths by 40

Panthers with players changes are still playing for their season and should be a good test for Souths mental strength.
If Souths play like they did against Knights i.e. second half game plan.

i.e. minimal mistakes , doing the handwork in the middle and using their backs smartly then they could win big. Souths second half was more impressive than the first half from a game plan point of view. The first half the backs were superb and everything clicked. The second half was a bit more dour , Souths showing patience and grinding out a strong second half 16-0 half.

Hopefully the boys learned from the loss out in Penrith a month ago. Boy that was embarrassing.

Luckily for us we have GI back, Reynolds has found some form and Penrith have half their team out.

Question for Panthers fans, do you have any forwards out?

Mansour and Simmons are most likely back.

Also Zelezniak is expected to return.

So that's 3 first graders in your backline.

i expected souths to be favourites in the betting for this game, but i didn't expect as low as $1.16, and penrith as high as $5.25. penrith actually beat souths not long ago

Panthers fielding a strong af team dunno what all the negativity is about.
In what world is this a strong team?

1 Will SMITH
2 Robert JENNINGS
3 Waqa BLAKE
4 Isaah YEO
5 Josh MANSOUR
6 Isaac JOHN
7 Jamie SOWARD
8 Sam McKENDRY
9 James SEGEYARO
10 Reagan CAMPBELL-GILLARD
11 Lewis BROWN
12 Sika MANU
13 Elijah TAYLOR ©
INTERCHANGE
14 Api KOROISAU
15 Jeremy LATIMORE
16 Tyrone PEACHEY
17 Bryce CARTWRIGHT

Assuming Mansour plays and isn't a withdrawal like most of our other players tend to be in the first game they are named back from injury, he's the only player in our full strength backline and he has barely played any football since his first injury earlier in the year. But it's a big boost having lost the only first grade back we had last week.

Will Smith is not a fullback. He was horrible against the Raiders. He's a reserve grade half playing out of position.
Robert Jennings and Waqa Blake just aren't quiet first grade quality yet. Both defensive liabilities and prone to silly errors.
Isaah Yeo goes well, but he's not a centre.
Isaac John is horrible. He was dropped earlier in the year to trial other halves. Unfortunately we don't have any other options this time.
Sika Manu has been pretty much non existent in most of his games this year.
Our bench gives away a lot of size carrying a tiny second rower in Tyrone Peachey and a hooker in Api Korisau while only having one front rower.

Basically it looks like we have picked the team that doesn't breach the second tier salary cap.

Hence using a halfback at fullback instead of picking Keiran Moss, and running with a small bench instead of bringing in Ben Murdoch Masila or Leilani Latu. Also probably why no one has been accountable after terrible performances. I think Sika Manu is the only player in our pack to get dropped and it's only when we are near full strength. He's clearly on the outer with us.
