Why? Because when wobbie was not squared, called not square then still made the charge down was called a penalty? How dare the refs use the rules.

Some of you need to learn the rules of the game. The two markers have to stand one behind the other, directly in front of the player playing the ball. That was clearly not the case. Ergo, penalty. The ref called it before Robbie charged the ball down too.

Dragons and Souths won't cause much trouble in the finals !
If Cronulla win by a converted try, Souths will be the only team with a negative for and against !

People aren't arguing that that isn't in the rule book.

It's just so rarely applied. The refs ignore so much crap in the game but then randomly decide to apply the rules at the oddest times. Like the sin bin last night for a professional foul on the line in the Roosters match. Given against Souths. Against a side who concedes them as an actual tactic and gets a sin bin once in a blue moon.

Quick clarification here. The controversial part about that penalty is that it was given in Golden Point and the refs usually ignore such indiscretions for fear of having too much input in the final outcome.

To be arguing that Farah was square and the penalty shouldn't have been given on that basis is laughably missing the point of the argument.

I lost track of the penalties we gave away in that second half, but im sure at least one of the 10 was for markers not being square. However, most dont continue playing when they are called out, only blokes on 900k a season lol.
