A draw never feels good - even when your side was expected to get absolutely towelled and is extremely young and inexperienced.

I don't want to go out on a limb and say we're improving a little because I think it was more a case of playing a side today that's more at our level.

Newcastle were great, their roster shouldn't be going near beating a team like Canberra.. their halves were rubbish at the end but they played well for such a young side

It's weird because that's the one area on paper they are better than we are.

They bent us over in the forwards. The pack needs a long look at their effort.

mullins attempt looked better then all of hodkinsons & his was from further out. fmd hoko is awful, mullen should have pulled rank after the 1st at least 2nd attempt at fg.

newy should have won this easily, they attacked to the right way too much all game.

is mamo injured? they desperately need a decent fb! can't believe brown was playing feeney at fb the first two weeks.

Hodkinson has won plenty of games for both Manly and Canterbury with the field goal, more often than many (if not all) halves currently in this comp. Like any sane person with a rational mind and a good heart, he probably just doesn't enjoy living and playing in Newcastle.

We didn't deserve to win that game, but we should have if Sam Williams wasn't such a f**king spastic
All in all, missing Sezer, Austin and Beej, getting a point is a good result

Agreed. I couldn't believe how easily they made ground up the middle. Our forwards were like so many raiders sides that have gone before them, complacent.

Leilua won't make our team any better. He's a liability.

But just one of sezer or Austin would have seen us win by 30.

The Roosters lost to Canberra whereas Newcastle didnt. Does that make the Roosters the new spoon favourites ?

BJ is a machine at hitting the ball up in his own half. With the knights smashing us we could have done with a few of his runs.n

he had 3 or 4 attempts none were even close, two he hit into players. mullen would have kicked those.

hoko was shit at the dogs & shows what i've been saying for years, he's overrated as f**k!

feel for the newi forwards they played good in the 2nd half.

Mullen has a horrible golden point record.

And if just a couple of the Knights disallowed tries had have gotten over the line they would have won comfortably - or if Canberra hadn't been awarded a try off the back of the exact same error the Knights were penalised for (which led to a Raiders try).

It's all conjecture about what would have happened. Your forwards were destroyed by a bunch of children and a 36 year old Jeremy Smith - that probably wasn't to script.

How do you think this game might have gone if it was Sezer and Austin up against the Knights sans Hodko and Mullen?
Settle down there, mate.
