And yet a quick glance at the ladder shows that we are currently coming 1st.

I'll take that without our first choice halves.

I don't understand why you're focusing on the performance of the Raiders here, when your Knights have just shown they won't be pushed around on their own turf this year, regardless of how young and inexperienced they are.

If that were my team, knowing full well it's going to be a bad year, I'd be ecstatic with that performance. The Raiders didn't let the Knights back into it, the Knights earned that result.

Holy shit people, this is it. This is the end. Skeepe just paid the Knights a compliment. The rapture is obviously upon us.

With two origin players in your halves...

You Newcastle lot love to play the poor cousin card

Hokko I'll cop but calling Mullen an Origin player is a big stretch

Outside of those 2 and Gagai, how many of our other regulars would get a gig at other clubs currently? Not many

A few in here are kidding themselves if they think Canberra were bad yesterday. They skipped.out to a huge early lead. Did it nicely too. Looked the goods. Pack on fire.

The facts are their forwards looked troubled when a pack made of 'NSW Cup' players, teenagers and the NRL's oldest forward started running hard, bending their line and getting quick play the ball.

How are they going to compete with an NRL standard pack when the going gets tough?

It's probably not likely we'll have our starting halves sitting on the pine, be coming off back to back game of near 40 degree heat, where we were down to 15 players in each game and then come up against a team playing their first home game after being embarrassed the two weeks prior

That really was the perfect storm for a Knights boil over. We played terribly, the pack looked flat (probably because of the reasons outlined in the last paragraph), the Knights played very well for a team of their limited ability
And yet we got a point and frankly if Sam Williams didn't have the absolutely stinker he did, we probably win. I'm not that concerned about one game early in the season when our pack includes Boyd, Vaughan, Sia, Papalii, Whitehead being steered around by Josh Hodgson

Be good if you blokes could name Whitehead in the forwards but play him at 5/8th for me every round from here, cheers. Scored great in NRLCEO.

On the match - the Raiders were clearly well below par, but definitely got ambushed a bit in that second half, too. We do have a pretty big pack too, it's just young and hasn't played together much. If Brown can get them punching forward like that every week, we'll put ourselves in more games. At least there's a bit of hope there for fans now... we can actually compete for a game of football. Didn't think a draw was an unfair result, either... why do we still do golden point again?

Agreed. The knights pack is big, fast and mobile, it should keep them in most games if they fire. Nathan Brown has his work cut out for him, but he's got some young talent to work with

As for the result, i 100% agree, draw was IMO the right result. Neither team really deserved to win that game and im not sure either deserved to lose it. I hate golden point, especially in this format.

I mean if you want a win and a loss each week fine, play golden point or ET or what ever, but if you're going to say that a draw is an acceptable result after 90 minutes, why is it unacceptable for 80 minutes?

Ridiculous IMO.

Ahah he looks like an actual ogre. When he got up with the swelling on his face it was the type of image that would give children nightmares.

He is a hell of a player though. For a guy of his size he works hard and moves well laterally too.NSW have a lot of props but vaughan and boyd are really good young props and with a bit of luck they both might pick up a blue jersey down the track.

What bothered me about golden point was i thought it was a pretty good game. For some reason fans on this site like to bury every game they watch when i reckon most games are pretty good. I thought the forwards on both sides were really impressive (a few raiders could have worked a bit harder cough fpn cough) but i enjoyed it. A few of vaughans runs and paulis runs for the knights were great fun. Some of the efforts we put on the try line were top notch.....what about the shot on vaughan. Ive nevet seen him stopped like that....never mind from a kid under 20.

So we go to golden point and the teams go fully mental just shooting for field goals. It turned a good game into a boring shoot out.

FPN is an unbelievably frustrating player. The gap in standard between his good and bad games is huge. Unfortunately he has about 10 bad games to 1 good one.

If just drives me insane as you know what he is capable of doing if his head and heart are in it, but far too often he doesn't even phone it in, he sends a weak excuse via text.

Yeah golden point is just incredibly shit during regular games. Majority of the field goal attempts are awful too because every man and his dog knows it's coming. Plus the refs just put the whistle away unless it's something blatant.

It's hilarious how you Knights fans seem to think you played our best side. Poor guys.

Oh we know we didn't. We are just looking for any positive we can in this shitstorm of a season.

I for one expect you to be top 4 this year.

Seriously good squad, Ricky has obviously bought all he has learned about TPAs from the Roosters and Eels down to Canberra. About time you leveraged all of those properties to lean on your "non sponsors"...
