Its funny, someone mentioned a kissing cousins thing re: the draw, but im looking at both sets of fans walking away pretty happy

for us, getting a point out of an away game given how poorly we played and missing our halves seems to be a result most are ok with

for the knights, that team absolute reeks, wins will be hard to come by all year, so a draw is one point closer to that 15th finish they are hoping to achieve.

Fair and fitting result. Everyone's happy!

The Raiders have a definite Knights 2015 feel about them to me. I remember early last year we were playing shit but picking up wins. We told ourselves it was a good thing we were able to win despite playing poorly, blaming poor form on injures, it being early in the year, etc...when in reality we were just shit and taking advantage of some currently even shitter teams to pick up a couple of lucky wins.

They won't fall into the extent of a hole we did because their general squad is better (on paper anyway) - but I see absolutely no reason to believe they'll go any better than their usual lower table finishes based on what I've seen so far this year. Yes their first choice halves are out blah blah blah but letting the opposition forwards march upfield 90 meters every set has nothing to do with that.

Even with you guys winning in the forwards with your full strength halves the raiders were able to mostly hold the knights out. The broncos just lost to the panthers a team we beat. Sides have off nights.

Vaughan and Boyd had big games for us. Its not like the Raiders forwards were completely useless. Just you guys were fired up as f**k and a few of our blokes didnt really put in. Its a miracle we drew it tbh.

Even if its a little trollish they make a good point. We havent proven anything. The talent is there but there is plenty of stupid around the team. The knights will be kicking themselves that they didnt make us pay after crokers disastrous decision to take the two.

Our forwards were crap, except Vaughan who was once again a power house. But the knights were obviously playing for pride in that game after getting towelled up in the first 2 rounds, one of those teams being the wooden spoon favourites. I've seen some ordinary raiders packs over the years dominate top sides when playing for pride. Dane tilse, Josh miller, Kris Kahler etc all played some great games after their standard 10 games of ass.

To be honest 95% of my post was trolling - I don't for a second think you guys will go close to picking up the spoon - that's ours...however yeah, it does make me laugh hearing how shit we are constantly from some Raiders fans. We're obviously shit, very shit - but for all the of the arrogance from some fans Canberra haven't done anything to justify thinking they're superior. We won 4 last season to start the year too (1 against the side that went onto win the GF). Means zilch.

I think raiders fans are just excited to have a bit of hope lol.

Yeah we've got a long way to go, and beating the sides we have so far is nothing flash, but to me the key is we've done it without our best halves
I think Sezer and Austin are going to be really good for us, and I'm excited to see the team around them looking good enough that with those two we've got some hope

Was a solid performance from a young Knights team, we might be shit this year and probably the year after. But with the young talent we have I'm confident that we will come good

Great game of football! I thought both teams played well. So proud of the team for fighting back after copping some rough calls. Our front rowers were brilliant, Mataora, Pauli and Paea were outstanding.
Mullen was brilliant too. Really solid debut from Denniss as well did everything right. We need to build on that performance. It was an immense improvement but we should've won. If we can start better and play with the effort we did for the last 65 minutes we should be able to avoid the spoon and be competitive in every game.
Have to give Shannon Boyd a wrap too. He should definitely get a NSW jersey, massive bloke with a good motor, also quite possibly the ugliest bloke I've ever seen.

When are they back? They are big outs no doubt. As Penrith fan I know it doesn't matter who the halves are if you lose both your starting halves winning becomes difficult. I think both Austin snd Sezer are smokers for a blues jumper this year if they can get back and play some good footy. I don't think they would go with two rookie halves but both these guys are good enough imo.

It doesnt matter if you finish 9th or 16th. You dont have a top 8 side, its a simple fact.

And yet a quick glance at the ladder shows that we are currently coming 1st.

I'll take that without our first choice halves.

I don't understand why you're focusing on the performance of the Raiders here, when your Knights have just shown they won't be pushed around on their own turf this year, regardless of how young and inexperienced they are.

If that were my team, knowing full well it's going to be a bad year, I'd be ecstatic with that performance. The Raiders didn't let the Knights back into it, the Knights earned that result.

Sezer was interviewed on local radio yesterday and said both he and Austin are on track for a round 5 return
Personally I have a gut feeling Sezer might be back round 4

A few in here are kidding themselves if they think Canberra were bad yesterday. They skipped.out to a huge early lead. Did it nicely too. Looked the goods. Pack on fire.

The facts are their forwards looked troubled when a pack made of 'NSW Cup' players, teenagers and the NRL's oldest forward started running hard, bending their line and getting quick play the ball.

How are they going to compete with an NRL standard pack when the going gets tough?

Our forwards would've competed with any pack in the comp if they played like they did yesterday. I don't think Canberra have too much to worry about. We were excellent.
