I dont bet but the odds offered for parra today were extremely tempting. Even without foran the eels are clearly a better side across the park. The raiders smashed the dogs in the forwards and the eels handled us with ease.

Gus probably loaded up 10k on the eels or something lol

43m from 12 runs this week according to the nrl app. He is obviously mates with the coach but he stinks

his effort when radradra steamrolled graham and flung to the ground, then crawled, then got up and ran a further 30m was deplorable. he watched semi the whole time and did nothing.

he is completely gutless.

i once thought hasler was one of the best coaches in the game but how can he not see what everyone else does?

and lol at people talking about the potential punishment in the game day threads. obviously you guys are somewhat worried that without a loss of points we will be around come September. you all sound panicked.

just let it happen. talk about it when it eventually happens.

Parra were already on a suspended sentence of 4 points for salary cap breaches.

If they lose more than 4, they won't make the 8 imo as they aren't quite a top 4 side, to get far enough ahead of the rest.

We are at the moment. Thats the number that counts, remembering we have a relatively good draw from here.

If we get through Souths and Melbourne with a win or two, we play the Sharks once, Manly once, Brisbane and Raiders again. Every other side we play from now until the end of the season is outside the 8 currently.

If they are to be punished (or not), they should write it down & put in an envelope.

Open it after Rd 26.

In this years comp 12 wins should make the 8.
Eels need 17 wins if lose lose 10 points.
They can get that many wins in my opinion.

Making the 8 gives you that "well you got to be in it to win it" mentality but with the finals format, you don't stand much of a chance

I would be shocked if a team outside of the top 4 won the comp

I'd agree normally, but partly that is due to the top few usually being a lot better. If the Eels make 17 or so wins (or more) and run 8th, they'll be the most in form 8th team ever.

They are certainly showing much better form than most teams

and should they do that, they'll have to win 3 consecutive games away from home, 2 of which will be against top 4 teams

I don't have the stats but I would like to see if it's ever been done in the AFL before as they use the same format

If we continue to play the way we have, we'll have a top four ranked defence and that counts for a lot in the finals.

It's all conjecture anyway, we could have a oenalty handed down and completely go to shit just as well as we could keep winning

If they win 17 games that's probably good enough to come top four.
That makes them a top 4 team charging from eighth or even seventh with 18 wins
They can carry a lot of momentum from there a prove a difficult proposition.
This is based on a 10 point penalty of course
