Its the Perth bid they need to be convincing not Vlandys. theres no way he will parachute a Sydney club into Perth over a local perth option. It'd be one sure fire way of it being a disaster.
Hes appeasing sydney media. When push comes to shove if Cumins group tick the boxes and Bears dont offer them what they want to hear who do you think is getting in?

There's only 2 ways Bears are getting back in in Perth.
1. The Perth bid has no option but to partner due to NRL insistence or not being able to meet NRL's criteria
or 2. The Bears offer the Perth bid something so good that they are willing to change direction from a preferred 100% Perth club.
Cumins seems pretty confident he can achieve point 1.
The Perth bid have nothing to do with it mate - it’s the W.A. Government who are not partial to either (but see benefits of Bears because it means they will be spending considerably less money in the code/team than if there’s a new standalone team with no assets or finances ready to go) *cough like
Dolphins cough*. Because Bears bring the resources I keep harping on about.

What is so hard to understand?

Cumins means nothing to this. He is Craig Davison of the Bombers bid v2. He has an opportunity to accept the fact an organisation with money pathways set up i.p. future financial
security is willing to come Western Australia to invest in the game, establish themselves and grow. Or he isn’t. Simple as that.

Where did you get that idea from? WA govt has said it will support whoever wins the bid.
Again you, nor I , have any idea what the Cumins consortium is able to put on the table in terms of finances, investment and possible pathways.
Take off your red and black glasses for a moment.
The ball is in Perth's court, not the Bears. Time for the Bears to step up and offer something irresistible if they want to see the Bears brand back in the NRL.

WA govt. Who've asked Cumins to let them do the talking for now. Now NRL is serious about Perth lets see how the Perth bid ramps itself up.
Lets take a quick look back at recent timeline.
Day 1 Cumins is interviewed and states he has rich consortium of local businessmen ready to bid if NRL is serious
Day 2 Vlandys talks up Perth
Day 3 Cumins is interviewed again and talks of being willing to talk to Bears but preference is to go it alone

Lets see what Day 4 brings!

Perth is firming to be a part of the NRL's expansion plans after Peter V'landys gave a glowing assessment of the bid from Western Australia.
Speaking about expansion in Brisbane, the ARL Commission chairman talked positively about the bid that has a consortium headed up by Cash Converters deputy chairman Peter Cumins.
"I'm taking an AVO out on (Western Australia Premier Roger Cook). He rings me every day asking to put a Perth team in. Their bid is looking very, very good and maybe PNG isn't the bid that is first," V'landys said.
"There are also some very good bidders in Perth, Christchurch and here in Brisbane. It is far from a final decision. All the bids are fantastic."

V'landys said it was not a condition of the Perth bid that they link with North Sydney Bears, although he is a fan of bringing the Bears out of hibernation.
"It would certainly help their bid because the Bears have got a strong supporter base," he said.
"They have also got the feeder system and juniors so it makes sense for Perth to look at that proposal.

You sound like someone who believes Michael Searles BS. He can do it all said the Titans and their fans.

How did that model turn out? In rugby league heartland of all places.

Now here’s an organisation going the Dolphins route with resources, financial sustainability and security due to how they have branched out into businesses outside sports, own established pathways without needing to steal from existing clubs and you want to know what they offer? Like those points are somehow trivial or easy to set up and achieve?

Take a moment to digest that please.
