Interesting that’s from a poll on their official website. Shows they think those are their options. 52% NT? Cooked. Hope they listen to their fans.

Darwin is always painted as strong AFL territory, the crowd numbers don’t really tell the same story, NRL games regularly outdraw AFL games there. Of course their participation numbers will have you believe 1 in every 6 people in the NT is an AFL participant.

To bring it back to topic, Darwin needs a QLD Cup team and more games, 2 a year around Origin period would be good.

Will Chambers would be the perfect person to run it.
Why coz he was born there... or coz he is a Queenslander.... maybe mal meninga can run the Torres Strait Islander team, or Nathan cleary can run the half Croat, half Kiwi squad, data shows that Napier is full of them... let's put a team there!!!

EXPANSION GAG ORDER

The NRL has slapped a gag order on any potential expansion bids after asking them to sign a nondisclosure agreement this week. That means it is highly unlikely that you will read anything new from the potential bid parties as expansion talks heats up this month. The NRL has sent relevant documents to the hopeful bidders outlining the criteria they must match if they want to be part of a 20-team competition. They must have that document completed by the end of this month before the NRL makes a decision later this year.

"Challenge accepted!" say the media companies, as they start digging around for any leaks or rumors.

Announcement expected in coming weeks from who?

All bids have apparently been gagged, and the NRL themselves have said they won't announce a decision until late Sep/Early Oct, once they've had August/Sept to assess bids & decide on a timetable for expansion.

what a side
Thank you, what an absolute pleasure to watch, I`m a Saints supporter nbut he was one of my favourites, such an ungainly running style yet so beautifully balanced and evasive, his ability to spot a gap and get through it, truly sublime.
Btw didn`t have that great try where he chipped ahead rekicked the ball on the full before it landed , caught it and scored.
