18th club, whose next?

Not a NRL club exec but the QRL boss who said this

Others have mentioned Pathways as being a concern. That is probably why the clubs haven't gotten off the ground
If juniors are a hurdle then we'll just send the Penrith Panthers over to Perth?

Penrith Panthers --> Perth Panthers

They'll have all the juniors in the world.

NSW Gov save tax payer money by not having to rebuild Penrith Football Stadium.

MugaB will be more than happy to sacrifice his club so Perth Red can have one.

He will never be happy till Logan has a team FFS

it's PR 2.0 all over again
Perth Red has been very positive since Billy Moores comments, obviously he is still cautious but he only wants what is good for rugby league in WA.
The Bears did themselves no favours initially with their non negotiables at that SOO in Perth but they have come a long way since then.

Bears need to ask themselves if they want to be like the Sydney Swans. There is no "South Melbourne Swans" in the VFL. There are no Sydney Swans home games played in Melbourne.

The only way the Bears might be accepted by Western Australians is by going all in on the Perth market. I don't get the sense that the Bears are willing to shed "North Sydney" from their future. The fact they're still arguing over NSO backs me up.

They aren’t arguing over how many games are being played at NSO anymore though, they have agreed to the one game being played at NSO each season.

They shouldn't be asking for any games to be played at NSO because it'll be the Perth Bears.

The fact they want a game played at NSO proves they're unwilling to accept North Sydney is their past and not their future.

Bears aren't agreeing to play just one game at NSO because they've suddenly realised their future is in Perth. They're doing it because Perth has the bargaining power. Once they get their hands on the licence, albeit as a junior partner in a merged entity, they'll agitate to move more games to NSO.

It's not a merger... you need to merge with someone if you are merging

I don't know if you're just trolling, but I'll bite one more time.

If the licence is split between the Perth consortium and the Bears then it's a merged entity. Similar to the merger between the Brisbane Bombers and the Ipswich Jets to form the Brisbane Jets bid in 2021.

No it’s not

ownership is totally different to the clubs identity

what if the club had five business owners is that a merger too lol

The Bears are negotiating for more seats on the board but the majority of everything is with the Perth consortium as it should be, it is a WA based team, over time NSO will not be up to NRL standards.
As you keep referring to the Perth Bears as a merged entity, unlike the Tigers or the Dragons, all of Perths games except the single game at NSO will be played at HBF Park.

NSO hasn't been fit for NRL since the 20th century.

What's the point in taking a game to NSO if it's the Perth Bears?
