If we (Adelaide) had a bid Santos would probably be the team sponsor.

They're one of the biggest companies and employers in South Australia.
I worked with the on a green hydrogen energy grant. They’re also up in the NT and of course PNG. Huge potential NRL sponsor

Coca-Cola is still a sponsor for the PNGRFL.

Yep and they used to sponsor the NRL so the relationship is there.

I am not against PNG as some seem to be. Due to Coke and Santos being large companies and they will have a steady flow of juniors

Recruitment and turning good juniors into elite NRL players are the downside

Could be the wackiest expansion plan ever devised!

one club a 100 year old sydney club moved 3000kms away
one in a third world country for no other reason than the Govt seeing reds under the bed
and one co-owned by NSW and Qlnd entities with a split personality for no good reason other than they happen to share the same moniker

welcome to rugba league!

Brent read on nrl360 saying nrl ceos will be making a huge issue out of the cash they need to approve expansion

his figures were a bit mixed but he said clubs want the grant to be 5 to 7 million over the salary cap

he also said clubs want a one off grant of 4 million as well

like with the cba the games stakeholders are holding the games future to ransom

I would’ve thought an additional 2 millon pa each is fair. Then wait for the new tv deal to get more
