Well played. That is actually debating the statement made.
I think we should be doing both by the way - expanding into new Australian and international markets.
We are probably too far behind fumbleball in Australia and union in NZ (in terms of money) but we could create something that either don’t have - a strong multi national competition.
Yeh $380 or $400 avg depending on what you believe v $520-550 avg mill cash a year isn’t much difference at all lolIt is going to be glorious when the TV deal is signed covering the same period and NRL is in front.
NRL has a presence in 8/10 biggest markets in the country and has NZ.
The TV deal isn't nearly as bad as people make out. Especially if the all cash part is correct
They’d make more if they could fit more than 12,000 people in.
That depends how much they spend maintaining it and how much match day costs to put on. A decent Stadium hire is $100k ish so that’s only an extra 3000 fans attending before you’re making more money, probably less if you factor in costs to maintain stadium and put games on.
Can’t believe the Broncos are playing the Bulldogs at Belmore Sports Ground, it was a shit ground in the 80’s let alone in 2023.
Bears lead the Bulldogs 30-6 in the NSW Cup with 5 mins to go and will be competition leaders again after today.
Looks like Josh Reynolds goes out a loser in his final game.
@Perth Red LmaoOr a 20k capacity stadium with very little corporate facilities, little cover and a standing room only area called 'the shed' in a non league city.
So now you agree nrl is worth more than the aflNRL is arguably the most lucrative sports rights in the country, based on audience size, origin and future growth opportunities.
If Paramount could find $600mill to bid for a lesser value AFL I see no reason they couldnt do the same for NRL. And lets not forget we are coming from a lower start point of just $400mill a year.
Of course thanks to Vlandys we wont go to market for another 3 years or so and who knows what the tv landscape looks like by then.

let’s hope, shame we have to wait 5 years for it!
I’ve never understood why a sport watched By more people gets less money. can’t think of any other sport in the world that has the largest tv audience and gets less tv revenue than its rivals. Throw in origin value and radio rights wrapped into our deal it’s shthouse every time.So now you agree nrl is worth more than the afl
good to see you’ve wholly changed your tune about the nrl needing teams in Perth and Adelaide to beat afl
And I’ve told you inflation has nothing to do with tv cash payment. I’ve shown you the expected year by year break down numerous times.I have told you many times about 7 years of inflation. Maybe get Gill's dick out of your mouth.
Looked like a semi pro sport sport at best. Most People sat on a grass hill in a 2 sided stadium where the only decent covered bit of stand is a mile from the pitch lolHarsh
looked great packed for a day game
dogs future is to get a rebuild at belmore and live the homebush white elephant to collect dust

In 2028 when our next deal starts afl will be on $520-550mill tv cash. We need to do better than that, not to mention the 3 year gap of $350mill we’ve missed out on between 2025-2027 That we’ll never catch up.

Tbf watching semi pro rugby league is something you’ve spent most of your life doing so this is something I can’t argue withLooked like a semi pro sport sport at best. Most People sat on a grass hill in a 2 sided stadium where the only decent covered bit of stand is a mile from the pitch lol

So it’s either we are terrible at negotiating or their national metro reach is more valuable, or maybe some of both?

They announced a media deal cash avg of $571mill. Its fair to expect somewhere between $520-550mill of that is TV and the rest Telstra cash component.Except the AFL announced the total. $3.8b is the total for that 7 year period divide that by 7 gives you the average.
That average is then scaled up across that period.
You apply that same formula to current NRL deal they end up close as it is. That is without the new deal to come into it
520 million cash isn’t a good tv deal lmaoThey announced a media deal cash avg of $571mill. Its fair to expect somewhere between $520-550mill of that is TV and the rest Telstra cash component.
Its not scaled, its an AVG! How many times do you have to be told lol. I still cant fathom how you cant understand how an avg works! Its the total divided by the duration ffs.
Ive broken the expected cash payment year by year for both deals based on how accountancy deals with tv deals (around 2% a year increase) now in the tv media thread, as you have well seen. The gap 2025-2027 is huge whichever way you look at it.
