Incorrect, they built it a lot worse! We were promised the taj mahal and got a shed lol. It was horrible those first few years with greyhound and speedway and only two small stands. Winter Rugby and when the wind whipped off the North sea it seriously felt like you would freeze to death!
Massively improved since then and the next phase of plans look even more exciting.

Demolish and rebuild corporate west stand and well, final extension of east stand (love to see a cantilever roof on at that point but doubt we will due to massive cost, and a new south stand that will incorporate a CofE. Not that they call it anything that fancy in UK lol. Currently building a 1million pound training pitch at back of south end.

As ususal for afl it’s a mix of cash and contra

marvel really is going to look good with all this contra
its not contra its SA govt. spending cash on AFL stuff like facilities and jnrs. Still the alleged $15-20mill a year direct cash is big step up on the pittance Pistol pete has managed.

There isnt open end at north side, its the south side that currently houses Craven St entertainment area. East extension will add another 850 standing. West hard to say a South stand similar to North will add another 1500 or so seats. Should take it to just under 15k which is plenty big enough for us.

Nothing out yet in terms of design or looks. I expect the west stand will be first then east extension and finally the south stand on a few years. There is also a lot of land around the ground w enow have rights to we will be developing or selling off along the way to pay for it all.

Hull fc rent deal has killed them

they signed a really bad deal and are getting taken to the cleaners

it’s decent how hull kr got promoted and actually developed into a strongish club that almost never happens in English rugby league

Rovers have always had a consistent fanbase of 8500 active fans going back decades. Having said that we still needed a rich owner to help us out through the tougher times and yo yoing up and down a couple of times didnt help. It finally looks like we have stability, opportunity and a good team on the field and can now grow to be bigger than we have ever been. The glory days of the early 80's were amazing and Id love to see it again before I peg it!

The Hull Wembley was my first ever rl game lol. Started high!
yeh I went back in 2015 when we got there (always promised myself when I emigrated if they ever got there I’d go) and good views but nothing special. Certainly not the buzz of seeing the twin towers as the tube emerges from underground. Having said that when I went in 1980 it was all standing and there was a big fence at front of stands caging you in!

That’s awesome you saw a moment like that

they should’ve at least kept the twin towers and built around them or rebuilt them in the new stadium

I went for st Helen’s vs catalans cc final

I enjoyed the club games more

the south stand at the old headingly was brilliant

the hull derby just edged Wigan saints imo lol

odsal was depressing as hell but the view was actually good

Wow what a way to win your first

They announced a media deal cash avg of $571mill. Its fair to expect somewhere between $520-550mill of that is TV and the rest Telstra cash component.

Its not scaled, its an AVG! How many times do you have to be told lol. I still cant fathom how you cant understand how an avg works! Its the total divided by the duration ffs.

Ive broken the expected cash payment year by year for both deals based on how accountancy deals with tv deals (around 2% a year increase) now in the tv media thread, as you have well seen. The gap 2025-2027 is huge whichever way you look at it.

So there is no allowance for inflation in the figures?

Ch7 and Fox staff aren't going to get a payrise that whole time?

Not when you are talking 9 years in the future
Lol we’re not. It will be somewhere between $520-550mill cash in 2028. 2% less each year for the 3 years before that, 2% more each year for the 3 years after it.

How much cash do you think telstra are paying? When announced everyone was saying most of Telstra’s offer was contra in improving marvel.

I was only ten so didn’t quite appreciate I was seeing a once in a century event! It confused me why so many grown men around me were crying at the end! Both in happiness and sadness depending what colours they had on lol
the city was insane leading up to the final with every house and shop decked out in red and white or black and white. Someone put a big sign on the motorway out of the city saying “last person out please turn off the lights”. They reckon over 100k Hull people went to London that weekend out of a city of only 150k!

lucky to then have seen them Win championships, numerous trophies and see them beat the qlnd state touring side in the early 80’s.

Must admit I shed a tear when we won promotion in 2007 and got into SL for first time in , I thought the club would never get back. I was really drunk that night and rang into radio Humberside and was drunkenly shouting my joy live on radio lol

Sigh, tv deals don’t work on inflation! How many times? They are announced as a total and a yearly avg.
financial reporting they work on a 2%difference each year. Like how hard is that for you to understand?

nrl $400mill avg (for sake of argument).

2023 $384.2
2024 $392
2025 $400
2026 $408
2027 $416.2

afl $530mill avg

2025 $498.8
2026 $509
2027 $519.4
2028 $530
2029 $546
2030 $556.9
2031 $568
