When the Sharks become the Perth Sharks they will have to turn the porch light back on for Harold Halt. Nil Premierships.

Irrelevant what everyone else is getting. It’s very clear that two clubs is enough for brisbane demand for the next few years, if not forever. When dolphins and broncos are getting close to filling Suncorp then it would be clear there is demand starting to outstrip supply. there is no reason what so ever RL fans in Logan or ipswich can’t be supporting any of the three nrl seq clubs that are there now
Attendances are irrelevant when the bulk of the game's revenue is provided by the broadcasters. On this front there's a clear demand for a third Brisbane team. The introduction of the Dolphins increased the average FTA viewership for all NRL games in Brisbane from 98k to 111k.

There's no way a Perth-based team will generate an increase of 13k in Perth for all NRL games.

Melbourne Storm average 31k in Melbourne, but the overall number for the Melbourne market over the course of a season is just 12k. Games not featuring the Storm draw 8k viewers. If the Storm can only add 4k viewers to Melbourne's overall average then there's f**k all chance of a Perth-based team adding 13k in a market less than half the size.

The irony of your stupid argument is attendances for the Broncos and Dolphins were higher than every other rugby league club in the world, yet you think it's not enough. You're fan of a small city like Hull having two teams, despite Hull KR's best ever season drawing just 8k fans to its games.

I still laugh at your idiotic claim that most RL fans in Perth watch the game on Foxtel. The ratings prove you're full of shit. In 2017 there were just 5k Foxtel customers from Perth watching NRL games. Last year there were 8k FTA viewers in Perth watching NRL on 9Gem.

A club would only move if they had financial need, and the nrl has made sure no one will ever have that financial need.nfl is privately owned pure business. Owners dont care about the fanbase or tradition, just in how much money it’s making.
The WA Gov and business community had decades to convince a struggling Sydney club to relocate to Perth. Peter Cumins could have attempted to buy a stake in club and moved some games to Perth. Peter Holmes à Court managed to buy a stake in the Rabbitohs.

If the WA Premier and Peter Cumins have any brains then they'll get in touch with Shane Richardson about buying a stake in the Wests Tigers. He's quite progressive and would at least listen to them. He was CEO of the Rabbitohs when they played games at a dump called Perth Rectangular Stadium.

Forget relocation, no Sydney club will move, let alone move to perth... you can shove that idea into the bin with all the other dumb ones that get brought up... if the force or super rugby fold in some way, twiggy can drop his breakaways and port over as the WA team, nothing changes for them other than the tweaked rules, and a better competition to play in, Sydney having the same amount of clubs as AFL in Melbourne, that will never change and the traditional teams of the comp all stem from Sydney, it would be madness to relocate any of them, its like throwing away history just to add a dot on a map, not when we can support 20+ teams anyways

Relocating a Sydney team to Perth is like bringing in Perth instead of Brisbane 3. Perth is just a meaningless dot on a map that will require decades of investment.

Obviously you don't know Brisbane, it's much bigger than Perth and that's without Ipswich, Logan and Northern suburbs. I bet you didn't realise that Redcliffe isn't even actually part of Brisbane and it's measured population..
I consider it Brisbane along with Ipswich ect, the same as Parramatta is Sydney.
But Brisbane could easily host 4 successful clubs- easily. And I'm not advocating for it, the Dolphins deserve 10 to 20 years without another rival.
And I'd probably be comfortable with 2 super clubs to be fair.
But it will likely have a 3rd at some point for sure.
I know it's hindsight but do think they should of merged the Brisbane BRL teams instead of having te Broncos.

The same people who are anti Vegas and png were the same ones who used to argue Sydney had too many teams and Sydney clubs should be culled so we could have a “national” competition by adding clubs in the hotbeds of Adelaide and Perth

it’s basically just a dumbed down version of John ribot which is saying a lot

Well, we certainly align on those 3 places the game needs to expand to.
Although it isn't a popular opinion, I'd prefer a very strong 18 apposed to 20 which require 2 Sydney clubs to move to Perth and Adelaide.
There's too many Sydney clubs.
Sharks to WA and Tigers to SA would be ideal.. a lot of people will complain! The example of this working is the Brisbane Bears but why stop there? NFL franchisees move all the time, recently the Raiders ( Oakland LA ) moved out to Vegas .. now they have their own city!!!

Well in modern history it is recorded that the British landed in Kurranulla in 1770.
In there they claimed New Holland as their own.
That's just the European side
I can try and give you an account of the previous 70,000 years but I'm afraid I'd miss something.
Hahaha I meant the sharks

West Coast Sharks.

The strange part is, the Sharks win with this move but everyone talks like its thier death.
They go from 1 of the smallest geographical location and populations to the biggest- an entire state.
Sharks fans will still be Sharks fans( let's casual Sharks fans are 150k), it might disappoint the regular attendees ( 10 to 20k) but you'll get new one's .

All the risk for WA is removed .
You already have an active fan base tuning in, juniors, roster.. everything.

The Dragons move permanently to Wollongong- Southern Dragons.

Expansion... Expand!

Posters who were doing there nut over the suggestion that Sydney has too many teams, are now openly advocates for the culling of Sydney teams.
