Record on repeat again.
Blah blah storm were helped by News blah blah Perth won't have the luxury therefore will be a failure... excellent well reasoned analysis as usual
Seems to miss the point that the NRL grant is now equivalent to what the Storm used to be funded in the past.

You said the Storm are worth a lot to broadcasters. Now you're saying the broadcasters don't care for them.

What is it?
You seem to struggle to understand the concept of time.

so
1. you agree Storm are one of the most watched teams in the NRL = value to tv

2. Its irrelevant what they draw in Melbourne, tv dont sign contracts on a city by city basis. The fact is they are top 3 most watched teams in Australia = enormous value to Australian tv

Its bizarre a RL fan would have such a negative view on the positive outcomes of expansion into AFL territory. But we know why lol
You're exposing your hypocrisy again.

For years you've said we need to have a 5 metro footprint to get more money from the broadcasters. Now you're saying the ratings in Melbourne are irrelevant.

Give it up.

The more you rant the dumber you prove yourself to be.

The dumbest part about your ever shifting goalposts is you're covering up the fact the Storm are a strong team because they were funded lavishly by News Ltd and the ARLC between 1998-2018. Sustained on field success is the reason for their strong TV ratings.

Are you stupid enough to believe that teams in Adelaide and Perth will generate the same ratings across the country without on field success?

your arguments are just guess work as usual, the only real evidence is the numbers which show Storm rate high nationally. Your speculative reasons as to why don't matter as you have no proof.

If Melbourne wasn't valuable then why did News invest so much money into them? this is the point you constantly bring up about them isn't it? that News spent such and such money on them. Why the f**k would News waste their money?
1. Melbourne is the second largest market in the country.

2. Murdoch is a Victorian.

3. News has a strong stake in Melbourne'a print media.

4. Foxtel didn't have the AwFuL rights in 1998.

5. Using your logic, Adelaide and Perth mustn't be worth shit to the broadcasters. Murdoch f**ked them off in a hurry.

6. If you think people don't watch the Storm due to their success then you're f**ked in the head. It's like denying that Man U have had a massive following around the world for 30 years due to their success under Ferguson. Chicago Bulls hats were all the Rage in the 90s when Jordan and co were winning championships for them.

lol he starts to froth when it comes to Storm as he doesnt want a successful Perth and tries to use Storms unique journey as some reason perth will fail. Its random and unhinged.
Perth is highly unlikely to have a successful team. It will be building from scratch with archaic infrastructure. It'll be lucky to compete with the Titans.

The Titans were gifted a boutique stadium that's better than PRS. They had to fund their own high performance training centre in a rugby league made market that has a far larger junior base than Perth. It sent them broke. Perth will be playing out of a dump with no high performance training centre and no sign of having one built for them by the WA Gov.

Neither you nor @mongoose have been able to put a monetary value on the Storm's value to the broadcasters. All you've done is reinforce my point that the club wouldn't be worth shit if it weren't camped inside the top four each year. It's an unviable business model for expansion into Adelaide and Perth.

Sir Graham Lowe is on 2SM Talkin Sports talking about how good RL is going in NZ. Reckons there is room for a 2nd team, he doesn’t have a preference for where though.
Mentioned that ex AB ? Dagg and the ex AB coach Steve Hanson reckon it is the preferred game to watch for enjoyment.

yes we know, you've told us your opinion on perths possible success 400 times!

Only an idiot would think that being highly watched on tv doesnt equal value to tv companies. Storm are worth a lot more to Australian tv due to the fact they are so highly viewed. Other teams have also had success and not come close to Storm ratings. Its a mix of factors, on field performance certainly plays a big part.

Its really not when you read their views on the game lol I mean Donkey said he'd quit the game if Perth gets a team ahead of Logan and Wb has already quit the game once to follow the Swans. Shallow is the word that springs to mind.

the funniest thing about this forum is you and your alts commenting on stuff and having no clue

I’ve learnt stuff about rugby league from donkey but nothing from you on league

loads about afl though like what prices the eagles charge for tickets and how much profits Collingwood made

Storm average tv ratings from 8k to 30k

value to tv companies … minimal

Stop shifting the goalposts you putrid little troll.

I asked you how much Melbourne (the market) is worth to the broadcasters?

You've danced around the question by saying it doesn't matter because the Storm rate well in Brisbane and Sydney.

You're also on record saying Perth doesn't need to have sustained on field success to win over Perth. The problem with your bullshit claim is a poorly performing Perth team won't rate well in Brisbane and Sydney, thus making it worthless to the broadcasters because it won't rate well in Perth, either. The other flaw with your bullshit reasoning is the Storm's popularity on TV will nosedive when they become a bottom four team. The Cowboys were right up there with the Storm for TV ratings when they made seven finals series straight and had Thurston. Years of finishing in the bottom four after Thurston's retirement saw their ratings slide somewhat. You're a complete f**kwit with shit for brains if you think the Storm are immune from experiencing the same fate.

That's game attendances that are inflated by holding a game at Lang Park during Magic Round, you dope. WB1234 was talking about TV ratings.

Metro Audiences

Sydney average 161,000
Melbourne average 12,000
Brisbane average 111,000
Adelaide average 7,000
Perth average 8,000
In Melbourne the Storm average 33,000, and when the Storm arent playing the NRL averages 8,000.

In Brisbane, the Broncos average 170,000, the Dolphins average 126,000. Other Queensland regional teams average 131,000 on Nine, while matches involving no Queensland sides average 98,000.

In NSW, Sydney sides average 163,000 per game, while sides from regional NSW average 163,000 as well. Matches with no teams from NSW average 146,000.

The leading clubs on television during the season werre Brisbane, Sth Sydney, Penrith and Melbourne.

Brisbane were the dominant club on Nine averaging 620,000 viewers per game.
Penrith 586,000
Parramatta 569,000
Sth Sydney 549,000
Dolphins 521,000
Melbourne 518,000
Sydney 510,000

Brisbane were also dominant on Foxtels set top box programming, averaging 288,000 per game

Sth Sydney 270,000
Melbourne 267,000
Nth Queensland 259,000
Penrith 257,000
The Broncos ratings dominance continued despite a significant drop in free to air coverage – this is AFTER they dropped 4 games on FTA – Broncos matches on Nine dropped from 17 down to 13 this season. No Sunday FTA (2 last year, 0 this year), and 2 less Thursdays (down to 4). Fri (8) and Sat N (1) FTA remained the same.

Notice there were two Brisbane teams ahead of the Storm?

One of the Brisbane teams that were ahead of the Storm finished in the bottom four of the ladder. We know. An unsuccessful Brisbane 2 is more valuable to the broadcasters than a winning Storm.

Cowboys weren't far behind Storm on Foxtel, despite not making the finals. An unsuccessful team from little old Townsville was watched by almost as many people on Foxtel as the winning Storm.

What does that tell you, motherf**ker?

Here's more data from 2017.

Deep down these turds know Melbourne ain't worth shit to the broadcasters. It's why they shift the goalposts and focus on how many people watch the Storm in Brisbane and Sydney when asked about the poor ratings in Melbourne.

@mongoose once claimed a Perth-based team will be watched by 110k people in Brisbane. The dope doesn't realise that the average for Brisbane is 110k. That means there are games that rate below that number. There's a good chance a Perth-based team will be one of the lowest drawing teams in Brisbane if it's poor on the field.

Only reason mongoose could come up with Perth is to send a message to the afl

he does spend a lot of time on nrl reddit so not surprised tbh

@mongoose also posts on The Roar, which is full of RU and fumbleball trolls who mock RL fans for not having a presence in Adelaide and Perth. I think that's why he's so insecure about our game not having a team in Perth. It's all about being teased by fumbleball trolls.
