Forget Perth looks like St Helens for Team 18

If it was, you didn’t make that clear. Sounded like you were laying blame for the Lions getting an oval in Springfield at the feet of the Broncos and Titans, but I may have missed that- text only conveys so much…..

Broncos & titans can make statements about how far their respective catchments run, but neither are based in south west like lions

So refreshing to hear from a local that knows the area and what's going on. Not an expert Sydneysider that knows all perth, Brisbane and NZ from his couch
Thanks mate, I follow these boards regularly and read a lot of BS thrown out ad nauseam.

I try and not pipe up unless I know what I’m talking about, and being the resident Titans fan (yeah, there’s heaps of us, right….🙃) that is balls deep in the club, I know what’s going on with them.

As for the area, my knowledge is only anecdotal, but I have lived here for 20 years and seen the region evolve in that time.

I think a lot of people forget how subjective footy is, and in its nature it’s tribal and full of opinions that seem water tight to one, yet is equally stupid to another. A bit of humility to see this and tolerate different perspectives some might learn a thing or two from others. I know I have..

My commiserations on choosing the titans

it’s going to be a long and painful journey

Okay….. we’re not talking about the same thing….. when has the Titans ever have anything to do with the South West Brisbane area? When have I ever said that they do? Do you even know these areas or have you somehow thought that Springfield is in Logan? Hot tip, it’s a long way away from Logan……

If Moreton Bay Area can support the dolphins at Suncorp they could support the broncos at Suncorp.
No one is targeting the south other than afl still. The fact we are talking About the need for a brisbane3 already shows what a Clusterfck of a decision it was, strategically speaking
That need would still be there if the FireHawks were chosen. Having said that, the ''need'' won't be for a decade or 2 and isn't a ''need'' it is in response to a strong heartland region with a rapidly growing population that will have four distinct centres, North (Moreton Bay & Sunshine Coast), Brisbane (& Logan), West: Ipswich & Toowoomba and South Gold Coast. South East QLD is a huge area.

Not sure it is fully grasped how big SEQ will be in decades to come, why wouldn't the NRL want to grow with it (treading the saturation line very carefully) to ensure it remains a heartland forever.

Springfield is in between Ipswich & logan. Jets bid represents area encompassing these two places & Toowoomba

Like pippen said

Paul Kelley and Wayne Carey are from there

nswrl are to blame for this anyway
I remember when Paul Kelly won the Brownlow getting asked who his heroes were when growing up, he said a couple of Aussie rules players then he said Kevin Hastings.
I can't remember the response but I know I started laughing real hard because of the confusion.

He played both league & afl. Riverina is proof both codes can exist together, but we'll probably just be like america where everybody takes a side on everything & society slowly falls apart

This. Area will be (& is currently) a heavily populated urban area only behind Melbourne - Geelong & Newcastle through to Wollongong. NRL dominating two of these three is massive advantage
