18th club, whose next?

If PNG is a lock in why did he say this I wonder?

“I think we will make a decision in the next six months. It’s hard to put an exact timeline on it, because we have to talk to a lot of people and do a lot of analysis.
“I don’t know if we will be doing a tender process like we did last time, but we will be speaking to different parties."
Mate you're literally quoting THE person that you usually use his words as a target.
You can't have it both ways.

As far as a team in PNG is concerned, I've put across my opinion about involving politics and that bid.
Not a fan.
From an NRL perspective, if they get the 18th team from PNG running, it actually makes them a big amount of money, with no cost.
Totally funded by govt. No outlays by the NRL, but definite income from the TV/Stream rights.
More games means more money, and the NRL don't have to pay for the extra team if it's PNG.

I’d be cool with that, but it would be next level if the club had the balls to do it in the original Chargers colour scheme…. But I guess we need to get back to the actual thread- PNG is a lock, huh??? Good is that we’re having a go…..
Fkn oath, i posted the original Chargers jersey too btw
Png will easily make the rest of the RL clubs look better, and besides the more expansion, the less everyone whinges about how 9 teams in syd is too many, we should strive to get to 24

The biggest benefit to PNG is it will be almost entirely locals, That improves PNG as a test playing team. That will lead to more money for the game.

Especially if Tonga/Samoa continue to improve
