Well you see mate, it’s not an actual answer. It’s a guess.so why not just say that before the bidding process commenced ? Seems a waste of dollars and effort

Wel they are technically not easts anymore, their current branding is "brisbane" tigers, still being 50min drive away from Ipswich (where the possible bid would be based) doesn't helpIt was never a good idea to have the Western Corridor represented by “Easts”.
So previous mistakes should be repeated within QLD?I read that, yet Sydney can have 9 teams
I was going to say “please enlighten us” but then went back to see who the poster was. never mind, you know shit f**k all and your opinions are even worse.Given the talk around Perth it's likely that they're looking to move expansion in-house, which could be a good move in theory except for the fact that making the Bears involvement a non-negotiable prerequisite for a side in Perth makes the NRL's actual intentions as clear as day.
You ridiculed people for suggesting it.I’ve never said it wasnt a possibility, I just don’t think it’s necessary.
Post like this let you down and show your true colours. People are sick of it.Be interested to know what the worth of the 6 Wb consortium partners is, probably around $400mill.+
You keep trying to paint this picture. Truth couldn’t be further from it.So rugba league wasting everyone’s time and money again and ending up looking incompetent.
Making things up, normally your domain. You’re still dodging. It’s ok to say you don’t know and you made it up.
If north sydney can represent Perth then I don't see the problem with easts tigers in the Western corridor.Wel they are technically not easts anymore, their current branding is "brisbane" tigers, still being 50min drive away from Ipswich (where the possible bid would be based) doesn't help
You might think that, we don’t know that.I don't think it has anything to do with their bid, more to do with their location, had the firehawks/east tigers picked up and went to Christchurch or Adelaide for example, I would think that the NRL and its clubs would've pounced on the idea, we all know they wouldn't have put zero in their bid documents
Easts have previously spoken about representing the Western Corridor or bidding for a Western Corridor licence.Think it was two seperate bids this time
Easts were one and Newtown / Ipswich the other one
Just like the Roosters. They will be forever Easts to me.Wel they are technically not easts anymore, their current branding is "brisbane" tigers, still being 50min drive away from Ipswich (where the possible bid would be based) doesn't help
sir hugo, but im sure he would be dead nowYou’re in wb territory now mate lol. Can you aname one with a higher public profile than an nrl player would have there?
True but this time round they bid separatelyEasts have previously spoken about representing the Western Corridor or bidding for a Western Corridor licence.
2 very different scenarios. One is because there’s no genuine set up of pathways to a level of satisfactory requirement and would attract minimal away fan base and the other is basically like Roosters representing Penrith..If north sydney can represent Perth then I don't see the problem with easts tigers in the Western corridor.
Like wests playing at Leichhardt.2 very different scenarios. One is because there’s no genuine set up of pathways to a level of satisfactory requirement and would attract minimal away fan base and the other is basically like Roosters representing Penrith..
All credit to them for 'apparently' wanting expansion but they get an F for execution. If the NRL does end up running its own team, will the clubs still demand a licence fee? Or will they be promised a share of profits if the club ever gets sold?
So far we have:
- no bids that meet whatever criteria the ARLC has set for admission
- the ARLC coming out and saying we basically don't want private ownership so most bids have wasted their time and money
- Brisbane bids also wasted their time and money
- PNG is the only 'bid' that makes the cut after the ARLC negotiated a licence fee with the Australian Government using taxpayers money. No govt money, no PNG team. Looks like its built on solid foundations from day 1.
Sounds like a successful expansion bid process so far and should be used as a study case by Harvard and other leading business schools around the world.
