Am I correct in thinking a situation like that will be avoided in South Africa as they're implementing a trial of the three challenges rule?

If it was challenged, yes. If it's not challenged then it makes no difference...Broom looked happy enough to go with the umpire's call tbh, as wrong as it was

It's not just the umpires the players have to know and not go ahead and think they are above the law which Australia do. Again

Yeah because the other ten players on the field had laser vision meaning they knew what happened

To the naked eye he was bowled.

STFU. Haddin had no way of knowing he'd taken the bails. That part of the gloves is just material, he can't feel it.

ohhh okay...

well people were debating the worst way to get out...

i think weve found a winner...

IIRC he can be called back while he's on the playing surface...or before the next ball is bowled. Not 100% sure which, but I wish the third umpire could intervene. He might be a dirty kiwi :)p) but that was incredibly rough

i think i would put it in a similar vain to someone being caught when the bowler steps over the mark...

technically its not out as it should be a no ball... but because the umpire didn't call it you have to take it on the chin...

if memory serves me right Warne missed out on a century because of a front foot no ball being missed...

What SHOULD have happened was once Taylor and Broom started feeling comfortable and getting on top Vettori should've called the power play and attempted to deliver a knockout blow. Clark wouldn't of even been bowling.

South Africa leave it to the last few overs, that's fine because they've usually still got decent batters or Morkel at the crease. There's no point in NZ and Australia trying to copy them when they don't have the same players.

Besides, I thought powerplays were there to make the 15-40 over mark more exciting. So much for that theory.

 Some great posting here

Of course no blame can be placed on Haddin, the umpire is supposed to be able to tell that the keeper knocked over the stumps rather than the ball when Haddin apparently didnt even see it

Maybe, but he played an ordinary shot and was summarily dismissed.
