Bailey is probably better in Australian conditions where it is flatter and he can hit out from ball 1

Smith just made his maiden ODI ton against Pakistan where most other failed and he gets dropped.

fmd, I am seriously worried about our new selectors, this is fossil like selections

Bailey, Watson and Scissorhands ? seriously wtf ? no spin bowlers ?

I cant believe the free ride Watson is getting after being out for so long.

No specialist spinner. Which is ok because we don't have a standout but I would have given Boyce a go, he did ok in the slogging matches and SA are Fruity Phil like against leg spin.

I'm a firm believer that a specialist spinner is a must going into the WC. Having an option of a change of pace is a must. And big show doesn't count as a specialist.

Watson is our best ODI player of course he plays Twiz. Smith played well in the UAE but last time I looked Bailey averages 46 at a sr of 90. He is perfect in Australian conditions. I am more against Finch playing than those two.

Completely agree

RSA are as bad as us against spin and we go in without a spinner, I cant believe it.

This is the time to be looking at Boyce et al a year out from the WC.

I couldn't understand Clarke when he was waffling on about why Smith was dropped

along the lines

"Smith did very well over there in UAE, but we want people scoring runs to hold their place in the side"

:-k

he is no where near our best and has no current form

we should not be using international ODIs to play batsmen in, thats what first class cricket is for

Finch is a flat track bully, don't rate him at all. Smith being dropped is laughable, finally get a decent crack up the order and is dropped after being player of the series

Watson has got runs in every innings including the domestic final. In this lineup he is our best ODI player, he is that important. How rubbish were we without him again?

Bailey plays in Australian conditions. It is either Clarke or Smith, I'm not fussed either way. Both do the same job.

Free ride for Watson? Total rubbish. He's played well in limited overs cricket since his return and deserves his spot. Bailey is the one getting a free ride.

Whats all this crap about Steyn not forgiven Clarke with his sledging in the 3rd test in South Africa

Didn't Clarke apologise on the field at games end to him? He also apologised to Steyn at the press conference didn't he?

Does Steyn need to man up and stop acting like a pussy and move on, or has he every right to not forgive Clarke? (who called him a cheat)

http://wwos.ninemsn.com.au/article.aspx?id=8928949

Steyn said he wanted to receive a personal apology at some point during his team's upcoming five-match one-day series in Australia, but Clarke feels he has already fulfilled his side of the bargain.

The standoff makes for an intriguing side plot heading into Friday's one-day clash between the two sides at the WACA Ground.
