Think that’s the game (thank you rain)
Series 3-2 to Australia
To the wonderful English weather we salute you.

The 6 x ODI World champions still remain unbeaten in a bilateral series post World Cup.

And England yet to beat us in a ODI series since 2018.

Anyone get piers Morgan's thoughts on the moral leaders of the spirit of cricket last night.

Slowed the game down to try and ensure they didn't get 20 overs in.

But the rain gods held off enough so once 20 overs was bowled they went bang.

Quite funny and very nice Karma

Good hit out and opportunity for us to prepare for our title defence.
Head is our best odi cricketer atm.
Short needs a longer stint as opener.
Marsh isn't an opener and probably not a captain.
Hardie looks likely.
Despite Carey playing well, Inglis is developing into one of our best.

Hard to judge our bowling with so many out.

The twits weren’t winning that game after our explosive power play and beyond . Rain was coming sooner rather than later . There only hope was rain to come before the 20over ticked over

Tactically they should have just bowled the pacemen. Take out Rashids 3.4 overs out and replace them with pace bowlers, and you get saved by the rain… just ….I’d say

But you know they scored more boundaries than us in this match so are the real winners here

Don’t think Marsh is around next WC in 27’. So don’t mind him as captain for now, as long as we groom someone to be ready at least a year out from the tournament

Yes, keep short there next 12 months, if he can be consistently good, then it’s his permanently

Probably need to , or soonish anyway. Look to see who replaces Smith . Don’t think he is there in 2027 , neither Maxwell, Abbot, Starc or Hazlewood will be either IMO

We are gonna have a very different looking squad in 3 years time

Last night showed Smith is still our best captain. Pulled all the right reigns after England shot out to 200 after 25 overs.

A lesser captain sees us concede 400.

I thought mostly his tactics as captain pre-sandpaper were a bit like Ponting pretty basic and didn't really offer much.

Wasnt creative and relied on our talented fast bowlers to get through them.

He was scoring a billion runs and there weren't any other candidates at the time until the shit hit the fan at Cape Town.

It was 6 years ago now so he has probably thought and learnt more especially being in the background and not having the pressure day in day out being the captain.
