How on earth do the kiwis keep getting allowed to play cricket on a footy field? They'll deadset struggle to hit 200 when they play on a real cricket ground

Has no trouble scoring 350+ on a cricket ground on Saturday. We just like to mix it up for shits and giggles

Already booked Monday for Wrestlemania but will double up as hangover recovery day (especially if the triple threat if Phoenix-Warriors-Black Caps comes through (BCS #1 priority obv)...

Hell after the beers since 2 and coupla nips of whiskey in the last 10 overs to calm the nerves, not to mention hyped up adrenalin from that win I'll be lucky if I get to work less than an hour late tomorrow!!

WOOOOO! !

Costly errors in the field from South Africa.

Wtf was JP Duminy doing???

They fell apart on the field, de Villiers and co. would normally get those run-outs in their sleep

You gotta feel sorry for them, two decades of unfulfilled expectations riding on that one hour of play where they lost it.

Like Guptill in the quarters (well, possibly even more so), he will never ever forget this knock. To way the way he did and finish the way he did in a pressure situation like this was epic. Just a fantastic, fantastic innings.

Yup. Batsmen get measured by their averages/hundreds, but innings like that you don't give a shit if it's a 50, 100, whatever. It stands out above them all.

Elliott was never going to go down as one of NZ's greatest batsman, but he won't ever be forgotten now.

I remember Elliot scoring a breathtaking century at the SCG against Australia to win a Chappel-Hadlee game once....

But this is another level....

South Africa, as is their wont, blew it in the second last over when they got in each other's way trying to take a catch off Elliott. It was a sitter, really. Had they taken it NZ would have needed 14 in an over with a new batsman at the crease.

Some deadset embarrasing reading in this thread, especially earlier on when there was so much of the game still to play.

Just glad the Kiwi blokes on the field don't have the same peahearted attitude the minute the going gets a little bit tough.

Well that was fun, unbelievable... absolutely unbelievable.

I am no Elliott fan, but my god... and more than that, apart from McGlenaghan letting them down against Bangladesh every move Hesson, Edgar, McCullum, Bond et al make is well thought out and correct...

And McCullum has taken aggressive captaincy to a new level - what he's doing in the field defies belief sometimes

lol nice Choke a Thon! South Africa never change please lol

Think that's a bit ridiculous tbh - both teams made mistakes in the field, and with the bat... high pressure game

While the rain hurt them a bit, at the end of the day it was a huge chase - 300 off 43 overs takes a lot of getting

At the end of the day, we get within 6 of a win, and it' over  How funny is it that the two 'steady' characters and least explosive bats have put the ball out of the ground to win games... And Dan, that "cut", so Vettori  Anderson also, great character, and Taylor was looking much better too

Taylor ???

That guy has really got me worried after last night. .

8 games now and he is still the weak link..

Problem with Taylor is that it seems like everything he does is premeditated. He's thinking before the ball is bowled - single to mid on - and he gets a full toss and taps it down to mid on.

Congratulations NZ

justified finalists, well earned and desereved

Pity the game was shortened, but you cant take anything away from NZ (along with India) form team of the competition. SA bowlers are no mugs, but they just couldn't get the Proteas home.

Hopefully a NZ v AUST final

If not, then Kiwis to win it over team India

Two ripper games left in this world cup to come

Yup, because nervous fans trying not to get their hopes up are ultimately the difference between winning and losing in a game they have zero control over. The fact everyone was still here up until the end should tell you more about how people really felt than individual comments taken at face value.

The only thing embarrassing is your inability to understand the difference between that and the guys on the field.
