...and what the hell is Michael Slater doing in that room? Are Ch9 trying to emulate what Channel 4/Five in the U.K. did with their cricket coverage of having Simon Hughes as "The Analyst"? Man, Ch9 are reaching low depths here. If there's only 6-7 commentators, they should just go back to two commentators per 30 minutes like it used to be pre-2005/06 rather than three and have everyone trying to get their word in
And if Glenn McGrath is trying to forge a future career in commentary, he better think again. Brilliant fast bowler, but like Bob Willis, his voice makes you want to go to sleep. At least with Bob, he's got very good analysis. Seriously, Ch9 have plenty of fish in the sea to choose from and yet Steve Crawley chose McGrath on the basis that he's a fast bowler and therefore can analyse the whole game??? Another one of his nincompoop decisions, along with choosing Ray Hadley to call the RUWC semi last year as well as displacing Voss in favour of Hadley to call NRL matches. Although this is going to be unfair on the likes of Benaud et al who are highly respected, I'd love to see Ch9 lose the cricket rights
