Sigh. The fast bowler bowling to footy players thing is only decent entertainment when they get smashed in the ribs and/or head, a fall to the ground being involved is good too.

3 of our 4 bowlers are just not test standard. How are we expecting to take 20 wickets at any point during this series?

SA obviously looking to push on.

Pattinson to be rested for Adelaide.

Get Nathan 'Worst off spinner since John Howard' Lyon off. Fair dinkum, a blind armless baboon could bowl better than him.

Shit, short, wide snot claims 2 scalps.
Stupid thing to say. Pattinson has been our most accurate bowler. Most bowlers will try the occassional variety ball whether that be a bouncer or yorker or a little wider than usual to keep the batsman off balance. He did that and it worked.

Pat Cummins is the answer

You can forget about Pat Cummins. As good of a bowler as he may be, he is Jason Gillespie mk II but won't have anywhere near as long of a career as Dizzy did. I can see him being on the sidelines longer than being on the field.

Also Hallatia. Was that your tweet I saw on TV?
yes it was, well spotted.
I actually got a bit excited when I saw it
I am still quite positive about this match from a Protea perspective, these wickets are probably a good thing, because we don't need that many more, so this way we won't have to wait for Smith to declare at 500 odd

Starc is just as bad as Hilfy and Siddle at this stage.

Starc was outstanding at the WACA earlier this year, but that was largely due to the Fremantle Doctor he had in the afternoon. He is only lethal if he, like Mitchell Johnson, gets that inswinger working (as was seen with the ball he got Tendulkar LBW with). However, although he is more consistent than Johnson, he still has an uncanny knack of bowling the occasional loosener and needs to eradicate that from his game

Regarding Hilfenhaus, I think his style of bowling is more suited to British conditions and still think he should be on the Ashes tour next year. However, as has been seen in this test so far, without any movement in the air, batsmen - especially of the calibre in the South African lineup - are going to pick him off easily.

 They weren't variety balls you pedestrian  The Kallis dismissal was due to the batsmen losing concentration after a long innings (and big lunch) whilst De Villiers was a lazy shot. Pattinson has been the best of the bowlers but to say that he somehow planned those dismissals is laughable.
