so Hallatia, you're telling me that if an umpire gives a batsman out LBW and the batsman contests the call and it is found the bowler bowled a no-ball, the review doesn't count? (even if it is found later on from Hawkeye that the ball was going to miss the stumps)

if that's what the rules say, then yes. I'm not saying that's right I'm just saying that if they're the rules, they're the rules

Great days test cricket

Should see Cowan make his debut ton tomorrow (and a big one) and silence his knockers

Clarke determined to get treble figures too

I think we will bat all day on day 4, set up an intriguing day 5

I've taken over from you before, but then I went on hiatus, which gave you time to get back on top

heading that way, but you never know

we could have a 50 run lead by stumps day 4 (our run rate is great)

get another 100 early on day 5 , declare and see what happens

I know they are a bunch of chokers but EVEN South Africa can't lose it from here!:lol:

How is that even possible? Unless we go at 5 an over tomorrow, declare when we get 100 ahead and then maybe have 2 sessions to bowl them out for under 100 with 4 of the top 7 batters in the world in their lineup, don't think so, or best bet is going for the draw.

But on topic I'm getting shit tired of seeing these old out of form batsmen in the team.. The team should be picked on FORM, nothing else.

1.) Hughes
2.) Watson
3.) Khawaja
4.) Clarke
5.) Ferguson
6.) M.Hussey
7.) Wade
8.) Cutting
9.) Siddle
10.) Pattinson
11.) Starc

(f**k playing a spinner, it's a waste of a spot, we have no good spinners in Australia at the moment)

Oh and batting lineup goes down to 9, Siddle and Cutting have both scored 50's / 100's so far this year in the Shield games.

Cowan looked really good today. Showing more intent which is what he needs to do. It is ok to leave the good ones but he needed to look to score of the bad ones more and he has done that. Clarke looked in good touch as well. Really need those 2 to bat the first session tomorrow.

:crazy:dear god no

Lyon also bowled pretty well today.

Speaking of no spinner, think Saffas shouldve played Tahir ahead of Kleindveldt

Dont need to go 5 an over

We are going well over 4 an over now (current partnership 71 at 4.3)

Steyn and Morkel will tire, no spin bowler, one batsman short. Hell, we may even send them in late on day 4, with us having a 20-30 run lead/deficit :cool:

Lyon bowled quite well for a guy who came into the test without much form. He isn't great but he needs to be persisted with now because there really isn't any other options. We can't go into tests with 4 quicks unless we have an all rounder who bowls spin at a decent level. I think ideally we have an all rounder in our side. Ferguson needs to do plenty more to get into the test side IMO. I'd have Burns ahead of him (maybe a bit biased) easily. Khawaja should never have been dropped, he is all class. Warner should be persisted with because the potential is there.

:lol: he wasn't always first, but I don't think anyone has ever overtaken him
whilst Kleindveldt wasn't great today, I fully understand the decision to play him ahead of Tahir in this test and I expect better things from him tomorrow
The Gabba (traditionally) is quite good for spin on the last day

Or maybe we were just spoiled watching Warney kill it whilst there!

Why not? He's showed good form so far this shield season, a 50 and a 100 if I'm not mistaken.

Quiney - 30 years old ~ First Class Average: 37 ~ Never played for Australia in any form
Ferguson - 27 years old ~ First Class Average: 36 ~ Played 30 games for Australia in ODI's at an average of 41

Don't see the logic in picking a guy 3 years older who hasn't felt the pressure of playing for his country before and will crumble under the pressure of competing against a top International team (see: Today's dismissal)

```
Anyway my point isn't Ferguson vs Quiney, my point is form / potential future player > experience / nearing back-end of career.
Hughes (23)
Khawaja (25)
Wade (24)
Cutting (25)
Pattinson (22)
Starc (22)
In my opinion are the corner-stone of the next decade of Australian cricket, I hope they are all given plenty of chances to secure their spots.
