Warner is a GORNER!

The Aussie selectors will keep him for the remainder of this series to ensure he gets his 100th test cap at the MCG. However, like Matthew Hayden during the 2008/09 series vs South Africa, I can't see Warner playing many tests beyond the 100th. 26 test innings now without a century, and only 4 fifties since that last century. Simply not good enough at this level.

IMO, the selectors really need to blood a new opening batsman for the tour of India. Whoever gets selected, whether it's Henry Hunt or someone else from Sheffield Shield, needs to be persevered with and given the 4 tests vs India as preparation for the Ashes tour.

Warner is getting games on reputation alone. Good selectors need to be more ruthless.

But wow the South African batting order looks so frail for a team ranked so highly. How has Bavuma been given 50 tests averaging 34? And Zondo debuted at the age of 32...his first class batting average is lower than his age. If they are among the 5 best batsmen South Africa has, their bowlers are solely responsible for keeping them out of minnow status.
