Hilly has been far from his best this summer. Improved this test but on current form its only injuries to others keeping him in the side. Still, bowled pretty well today.

Hilfenhaus is a swing bowler who operates best with assistance he was never going to bowl well in Adelaide. Apart from Watson he is the only bowler that seems to attack the stumps and move the ball. Starc is still a bit wayward but I like that he errs on the full side rather than Johnson who dishes half trackers. Siddle is good but doesn't move the ball a lot. Hilfenhaus has a seat going to England barring injury because of the way he is suited to the conditions.

Will they avoid the follow on?

In other news, did you see that there was only 11K at the MCG for the BBL last night? Thats a kick in the guts for CA.

CA have hitched their wagon with the Big Beat off, it looks like it is already losing some of it's sparkle. Chairman Victorian may need a new cash cow soon.

Not a fan of T20 but it seems like all the razzle dazzle you see when watching on tv you miss out on by going to the game. It's a made for tv product. I hope they weren't expecting/relying on big crowds

As for the follow on, irrelevant, we're not enforcing it.

Bill Lawry losing the plot "HE'S GONE!" Meanwhile the ball is trickling away on the ground to backward point...

Hilfy looks in trouble here.

Is there going to be a test match this year, where we dont have a game ending or disrupting injury?

Starc has it all IMO, in terms of raw skills. Left arm. Quick. Tall. Can swing the ball. Why on earth is he trundling in bowling rank half volleys from around the wicket? He doesn't seem to have a good strategy as a bowler.

Yeah when he gets it right he looks very, very good but still a lot to learn at this stage.

God the Struggler is a tool. Every ball he bowls he pulls that face and looks to the sky as if he's unlucky to get a wicket.

He reminds me of Defendor

Lyon on a bowlers pitch getting handled by the Sri Lankans.

and there's still people here who would prefer him to Warne for 10 straight Ashes tests...

Hilfenhaus has left the ground for a scan.

Knowing how our fast bowlers have gone this summer, he's out for 6 months.

Looking forward to Mitch steaming in on Boxing day...

How is it a bowler's pitch? Australia made 5/450 and on day 3 these two have put on 60 in an hour.

Warne was a great bowler but his myth is growing day by day (mainly thanks to him and fanboys like you). Warne took wickets consistently but did not take ten wickets an innings every match.

Who is left in our pacemen stocks?

Siddle, Johnson, Starc as players who have played for Australia.
McKay, Nannes as bowlers who have played the shorter form however they're both 30+.
Bird, Cutting, McDermott, Henriques as bowlers who have been there abouts in selectors plans.
Then there's not much there unless Copeland, Bollinger are back in the frame? Doubt it.

Could be an opportunity to bring in Bird into the squad at least. I think the selectors want to eventually blood Henriques as the all rounder and to be honest his figures and stats haven't been too bad.

I'm sure if Hilfy is cooked that Sidds, Johnno and Starcy will be the attack for Boxing Day. Geez we could leak 500+ runs with those 3...

A 45 year old playing test cricket in 2014. You know Aussie cricket would be at its least ebb.

Where does Australia go from there?

I can't see Warne being able to last 5 hours let alone 5 days.
