I reckon we may as well declare now. I was for batting to 400 with actual batsmen there but there's no point tiring our bowlers now when we'll need them to win.

It's going to be very hard for you guys to reclaim the Ashes in England this year with a top four of:

Warner
Cowan
Hughes
Watson

I hope you smash India. Can't see it happening without a spin bowler of note. But in England, with that top 4, and Hussey who doesn't perform outside of Australia...geez Clarke will be under immense pressure to plunder runs at a Don Bradman rate.

Something he won't always be able to do at no. 5.

Don't need to be too mad from here. Aim for 4 or 5 an over, add 30-odd to the lead before tea (get it around 400 to be certain) and leave four sessions to bowl them out.

Meh, your batting is far from settled at present. Bells in woeful form, Root and Compton have 5 tests between them.

 He was pretty ordinary in Sri Lanka last year, wasn't he..

5 hundreds, 14 fifties and an average of 42 away. It's not spectacular, but it certainly makes a meal of your claim he "doesn't perform" outside Oz..

Oh please. The majority of your top 6 are plodders.

With Pattinson and Cummins to come into the team we won't need to score as many runs as you think.

As for our top order. Warner, Cowan and Hughes are all in form.

I agree the big question mark is Watson but the rest of our top 6 are all inform and scoring runs led by the best batsman in the world.
I'm curious what Lyon did to you... he's nowhere near as bad as you frequently make out.
Yes he is. He's not a wicket taker, he's hopelessly mediocre even on 5th day wickets.

Lyon's not that bad with the stick for a no. 11.

Not as good as Bunniesman, but that's a different kind of stick.
