Yes he is. He's not a wicket taker, he's hopelessly mediocre even on 5th day wickets.
The reality the Shane Watson could captain the country in a Boxing Day Test is starting to dawn on me..
I think i'm going to spew..
I was thinking just that when the commies were crapping on about Watson being vice captainUnfortunatly Watson would be the captain, so he'll probaly bat where ever he wants.
If Clarkes out I want Hussey as captain
Fair enough. He has a respectable record away from home. He's a good player of spin. But away from the sub-continent he's appalling. He was pretty ordinary in Sri Lanka last year, wasn't he..
5 hundreds, 14 fifties and an average of 42 away. It's not spectacular, but it certainly makes a meal of your claim he "doesn't perform" outside Oz..
That young replacement fielder has a better case for captain.
It occurred when Cowan, Watson and Hughes were batting
LOL Who says Pattinson and Cummins will be fit?Oh please. The majority of your top 6 are plodders.
With Pattinson and Cummins to come into the team we won't need to score as many runs as you think.
As for our top order. Warner, Cowan and Hughes are all in form.
I agree the big question mark is Watson but the rest of our top 6 are all .
The question is which head was saying that.http://www.espncricinfo.com/australia-v-sri-lanka-2012/content/current/story/597307.html
The general gist of the conversation on ABC Grandstand with the chairman of the tasmanian cricket board
It occurred when Cowan, Watson and Hughes were batting
Hughes has got 100+ runs in his 1st test back. Warner and Cowan have both scored 50s in this test and both have 100s this summer. And those 100s came against the best attack in the world.LOL Who says Pattinson and Cummins will be fit?
Our top 6 are far from plodders. They've grinded away in India but it will be completely different in England. Cook, Trott, Bell, Prior and of course Pietersen will score at a more than handy rate.
As for Warner, Cowan and Hughes all being in form. You're a comedian! Two of them average mid-30s in Test cricket and Warner is super streaky. Ed Cowan in form, FMD.
